November 10, 201114 yr Author Is this high school credits or college? I'd assume high school in order to have the required credits to enter college.
November 10, 201114 yr If my son just got into trouble with drugs the last thing I would do is send him off to a college far away. This the making of a bad situation. I really hope he does the right thing and gets his life in order. I agree 100%.
November 10, 201114 yr Zeke is getting a fresh start and he has the chance to make something great of it. I wish him nothing but the best.
November 10, 201114 yr If this is what Zeke wanted, then I wish him nothing but the best. However, I would hate to think that he made the decision to leave due to all of the scrutiny he has received over the past few years. I just think it's to bad that an 18 year old high school kid cannot do what other HS seniors do like hang out, play basketball, attend prom, walk with his class at graduation, etc..............good luck to you young man, I wish you nothing but the best going forward.
November 10, 201114 yr I think Dixie has online courses that you could easily get 3 Credits before the end of December. It might be a Kenton County Diploma ( State Minimum Credits ) instead of a Dixie Diploma. I sure hope there is some counseling before he attends Auburn. Good Luck! I hope you get your priorities straight and lead a clean life! You have an opportunity that many 18 years olds do not get. Prove you are part of the Elite11
November 10, 201114 yr It seems strange that you can earn credits for 3 classes in about 1.5 months. Not really. Before I retired..5 years ago, we had a computer program we used for tutoring and summer school. You could finish a class in this amount of time or less. I assume this is what he will be doing. I think this program is state wide. Ironic, but ours was called, "Second Chance". I think it goes by another name now.
November 10, 201114 yr Imagine that, running from consquences again... Not a huge surprise despite his dad's comments last week saying Zeke would finish the year at Dixie. http://auburn.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1290929 Dixie Heights quarterback and Rivals250 member Zeke Pike took an impromptu visit to Auburn last week. The four-star prospect, his father Mark, and his younger brother arrived on the Plains Thursday evening and stayed until Friday night. "We had a fall break and it was a good time to go down," said Pike. The big news for Pike, and the Auburn staff, is that the U.S. Army All-American signal caller has decided to enroll early in college after a meeting with high school officials and his parents on Monday. Pike will forgo his last fall trimester and spring at Dixie Heights High School and arrive at Auburn in January. "We met with the principal (Monday) morning, so I'm coming to Auburn in January, 100 percent," said Pike. "The coaches are stoked I'm coming in January. They feel like it's in the best interest for me. To be able to get down there and get a head start is the best option for me." Pike will begin taking three online courses next week and expects to arrive in Auburn for the start of the spring semester.
November 10, 201114 yr Another selfish move on Pike's part. But one that needed to be made. He needed to get away from the bad influences here and get a chance to start fresh somewhere else. Hopefully he'll get it together down there. Good Luck to the young man.

Think he attended prom but happened to be drunk and was suspended. Don't feel sorry for him not being able to do some of these things. He's made his own bed... and now wants to run from it. I do hope he realizes things won't be covered up and excuses made for all bad behavior down at Auburn as a student/athlete. Best of luck.

November 10, 201114 yr Best of luck Zeke. You pretty much have a new and clean slate to work with. Put the past behind you and conduct yourself in a manner that will help leave the past behind you. Hopefully you realize that you made the bed that you had to sleep in during high school. Fortunately you've been given the opportunity to sleep in a new bed. You may think you were treated unfairly and criticized unharshly the last couple of years. Perhaps you were at times. The best way to handle that is to go to Auburn; keep your nose clean; keep your mouth shut; and just work hard and perform. Do that and even your harshest critics will eventually come around. This Highlands fan wishes you all the best young man. Now go take advantage of an opportunity (while laden with pitfalls) that most kids will never have offered to them. It is up to you to dictate your future. LN

Really? Have you been watching the news lately, or for the last 20 years? College athletes have access to money, girls, drugs, whatever they want, and many times the universities turn a blind eye to what their boosters/alumni are doing. I hope he stays out of trouble and has success at Auburn and beyond.
November 10, 201114 yr Good luck to Zeke..... It's time for you to move on and move on without your Daddy. Auburn doesn't want Mark Pike!!!! They want Zeke Pike and expect him to perform/act like the young man they recruited. There have been times at HHS that a certain family who's name I have decided to leave out of it, couldn't figure out why this college and that college didn't want any part of them. They wanted the kid just not the baggage(Dad) that came with him. It's time for Zeke to go and prove to the rest of us nonbelievers who don't think he will ever take 1 snap in the SEC at QB, that there is a reason that the War Eagle came a calling. Good luck form this Bluebird young man!!!
