How has Ashland played against a more balanced offense that can throw the ball around?

 

Obviously they loaded the box against Belfry and used their speed to contain the outside. I assume they used this same approach against Johnson Central, who doesn't throw much. They can't do that this week.

 

But I do hope they try.......

I don't think anyone would doubt that their O-line is one of the better ones across the state.

CovCath/Ashland thread has more posts and views than the HHS/Johnsonville thread. Just don't ever remember seeing more interest in a CovCath game than anyone HHS was playing. Just saying.

Doc, CovCath uses primarily short passes and their QB gets rid of the ball very fast. Combine that with the quality of the CovCath O line which is pretty good, and I think Ashland will have a tough time getting to CovCath's QB.

I’m told Coach Heart scheduled George Washington because they are like CovCath. GW is currently ranked 2nd in WV (according to their web-site) and are undefeated. We gave them their best game so far (18-14 at Putnam). It seems Coach has been anticipating this game with CCH for a long time.

 

I think this will be a very good game. CCH has to be considered the favorite, but upsets do happen.

Nobody needs any reminder of who CCH is, but looks like some may want to remember who the Tomcats are. They are the only team to finish a game within 4 points of the #1 team in WV. They are the team that held the Belfry very potent running game to 7 points. They are also the team that held J.J.Jude to 83 yards. I defintely believe that CCH is the better team, but they are going to be in a game and a tough one having to drive over 2 hours to play at Putnam Stadium. Should Ashland pull this out I seriously doubt they can hang with Highlands like CCH did, but I don't think CCH can do that twice. But I have been wrong before, yesterday in fact, I picke Alabama to win. So I'm not perfect, but I'm usually pretty close.

 

I agree with you on all points you made here JAL. CCH is good, very good and absolutely no one that I have heard has said anything else. We all are well aware of how NKY teams for the most part have whipped our NEKY teams through the years in the playoffS. I stated in my earlier post that Ashland has good speed, very good athletisism, a 4yr experienced QB, are well coached and as I said are a better team at home. Maybe it is the "ghost of Putnam" that awaken and help their Tomcats, I don't know but the Tomcats imo are definately a better team at home. CCH probably is the better team but I just have a feeling about Ashland. May both teams stay injury frree and......GO TOMCATS!!.....22-21 Ashland

I agree, the better out of district teams a team can play, the better they are prepared for the playoffs. :thumb:
