Unbelievable, how does something like this go on for this kind of time? After reading over this completely, Penn State has lost all of its credibility from me not only as a football program, but as a place of higher learning. ALL people in upper administration, athletics, or in other areas should be roasted for this. This won't have a nice turnout for all who were involved in knowing about this.

 

What's even sadder about this is the way that social services is viewed by many. It's not good at all for the people that really want to contribute to helping people who are ethical and truly care.

This guy like any others like him needs to be a prison for the rest of his life. The reaction by PSU is reprehensible.

 

Unfortunately it seems as if there are way too many of these deviants in society and in the world of sports.

I agree, if Paterno is back after the season is over, I'll be surprised. IMO, this is clearly the worst thing to happen, especially with being known of.

I saw that as well. I don't think the AD resigned. I think he is taking a leave to defend himself against the perjury charge.

I agree. It even is a worse rep IMO than Bobby Bowden's. All he did was look the other way at the activity of his players which I don't think was on this level.

 

I don't know of any college scandal on this level. Everything else revolved around consenting adults. IF THIS IS TRUE, any of the cases, then Sandusky should never see the freedom of the outside world again. From what I've been told, pedophiles aren't the most esteemed people in the prison yard.

Exactly. He can't hide behind, "I didn't let him here, the AD did and he's my supervisor." Who has more pull in Happy Valley? This will always be a scarlett letter for Paterno, as it should be.

If Joe knew about this and let the guy hang around, Joe is the Head Coach and needs to step down, we are talking about children here. This is really sad and gonna get worse.

I can't see Paterno surviving this scandal regardless of what he did or didn't know and/or do.

 

There are several point to make when considering the fate of Paterno as HC of Penn State. He's old. Really old. He isn't nearly as involved in the running of things as in the past, from what I've read. There are people who want him to move on so they can get a new coach in the fold at Penn State. I could be wrong, but it seems very possible that they'll use this as an opportunity to force him out and move on.

 

The actual story is quite disturbing. Was Sandusky the D-Coordinator? I was thinking he was to JoePa what Mickey Andrews was to Bobby Bowden. The old, long-time D-Coordinator who stayed with the coach for much of his tenure.
