Former Penn State coach charged with sexual abuse....

Featured Replies

If this happened at a company or at a school what would happen to the Overseer on their watch?

Sandusky will probably off himself...and I'm fine with that.

I can't see Paterno surviving this scandal regardless of what he did or didn't know and/or do.

There are several point to make when considering the fate of Paterno as HC of Penn State. He's old. Really old. He isn't nearly as involved in the running of things as in the past, from what I've read. There are people who want him to move on so they can get a new coach in the fold at Penn State. I could be wrong, but it seems very possible that they'll use this as an opportunity to force him out and move on.

The actual story is quite disturbing. Was Sandusky the D-Coordinator? I was thinking he was to JoePa what Mickey Andrews was to Bobby Bowden. The old, long-time D-Coordinator who stayed with the coach for much of his tenure.

Sandusky was D-Coordinator for a very long time.

Doesn't sound like Penn State was too concerned.

Embattled former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky continued to be a presence around the Penn State football program up to his arrest Saturday on child molestation charges, including working out multiple times in the team’s weight room just last week, according to multiple sources within the football program

Exactly. He can't hide behind, "I didn't let him here, the AD did and he's my supervisor." Who has more pull in Happy Valley? This will always be a scarlett letter for Paterno, as it should be.

No doubt.

If Joe knew about this and let the guy hang around, Joe is the Head Coach and needs to step down, we are talking about children here. This is really sad and gonna get worse.

I completely agree.

I don't know if a legacy such as Joe Paterno will ever go from being as big as it was to what it is now after this.

Joe Pa can say he doesn't remember much and his memory is failing and who is going to argue with him?

I hope he does. It will make him an even bigger fraud than he is now.

Why is the grad assistant getting a pass here? He is still onthe PSU staff according to what I read. Everyone with any knowledge of this should be fired immediately and any charges that can be filed should be filed.

This will not turn out good for the three stooges -- Joe, Gary, and Curley

Prison is not the place for someone like this...some of these liberal judges will eventually let them out, "because the prisons are over-crowded or for their own safety." Makes me sick!! If anyone should get the death penalty this guy and all like him should. He should die in the electric chair or by public hanging(which I know is not legal anymore, but should be).

The VP and AD should get the same sentence, as far as I'm concerned.

Speaking of the grad assistant who walked in and witnessed the CRIME being committed....why didn't he call the police? Or at least run in and scream at the pedophile and tell him to stop? How is this different from walking in on someone being beaten or raped? Wouldn't you try to stop it? The more I think about it, the more I think that this grad assistant is also a scummy freak...which make his story less credible, IMO.

I've been thinking about something. Between everything that has come out about Sandusky and the others, especially considering the positions they held and not being truthful, what could happen to the program after all investigations are done? I know that many things have gotten a lot more lenient than they used to be about various violations and that almost no one ever believed we would see the death penalty after what happened at SMU. However, after considering many of the circumstances involved with this matter and the nature of what all has been involved, could the death penalty or something very similar in nature happen with consideration to the seriousness and harshness of what took place? I believe that very harsh consequences could be on the way, which I wouldn't feel bad at all about with what all took place.

What are other thoughts on this?
