I'd like to see one compete in the game...

You did yesterday. Unfortunately, the coach didn't notice.

I don't understand this "compete in practice" stuff. Sure, practice is where you get ready to win on Saturday, but the game film is all he needs. Maxwell is just plain tougher and makes better decisions. Stands in the pocket and gets it downfield. Takes his licks. I'll take tough and brains over fast or strong arm every day and twice on Sunday. I was at the game and had good seats, his sideline rapport with the players is also much, much better. When things are going bad, you get back to basics and work on lead, dive, and 3 step drop passes. Put Maxwell and Williams in there and lets get back to some fundamentals.

Does this mean they haven't been competing in practice? If so, why not?

I don't understand this "compete in practice" stuff.

As far as I'm concerned, it's the only way he can continue to justify starting Newton, ergo they'll compete in practice.

Waste another week, instead of making a decision and getting the starting QB ready for Ole Miss. I obviously do not understand this. You're pushing me off the bandwagon Joker.

I just heard an interview on WDKY with Morgan Newton about Maxwell Smith. " He did pretty good...from what I got to see, he did pretty good...MADE A TON OF MISTAKES".

WHO IN THE WORLD DOES THIS BOY THINK HE IS? He does not think he makes mistakes? I wanted to throw a brick through my TV when I heard this. What has Joker created with this guy? I have never liked Morgan Newton and now I could care less if I ever see him play again.

I don't think many programs have their QBs compete in practice once the season starts.

I am sure that Joker is having a hard time with his ego by allowing Newton to be benched. I would be willing to bet if they go with Smith, it will be because Newton "isn't fully healthy".

As for Williams...it's hard for Major college coaches to start Walk ons over Scholarship players, especially at skilled positions.

Joker don't know the difference between a pulling Guard and Middle Linebacker.

This team simply looks like it is being led by coaches that are in over their collective heads. Joker is not a leader. Time to cut bait.

From the transcript of today's presser:

Q. Will the QBs split repetitions in practice?

COACH PHILLIPS: Yes. We'll give them both equal amount of reps.

The Spin: Neither QB will be prepared for Saturday.

Do you think Joker is doing this so Ole Miss does not know who to prepare for?

I have to throw it out there, just to see how far it runs down the wall. :D
