Beatty? Mueller? Wallace?

Is it "Coach of the Year" or "Who didn't mess up what everyone knew would be a good year"?

 

Should Tracy at Franklin or Haywood at Belfry be mentioned? Mills at Bell? Lots of good choices besides coaches from football factories, although those three certainly are viable selections.

That's why I think Chris Tracy from Franklin County should get a whole lot of consideration. I think people expected them to be good, but I'm not sure anyone expected the results they have produced.

I think you're onto something there. Definitely weren't ranked by anyone coming into the year and went out to an undefeated season. They'll be strongly favored to make it to at least the State Semis.

If Trinity runs the table, Beatty should win easily.

I agree, Franklin County has come from seemingly nowhere. To win 6-7 games is amazing, but to go undefeated is a different level entirely.

Franklin County doing it from scratch is far more impressive than Beatty, Wallace, or Mueller, doing a remodel....imo

I agree to a point, but Trinity's schedule was sick. Not saying Tracy doesn't deserve it, but what Trinity is doing for KY high school football right now is great! TO have the best team high school team in the country is awesome!

Agree, with you too. Both are deserving in their own right.

The best team in the country is pretty much a political title. Who's to say Trinity would beat teams from California, Florida, Texas, ect.. Yes, they had a sick schedule, but, at the same time, you schedule that way when you expect to be really good. Why is it that Trinity hasn't scheduled that way in the past? Something to think about. I actually believe a "Coach of the Year" award should go a coach that over achieves what expectations were. I believe everyone expected Trinity to be very, very good and all they did was do what most already expected. Franklin Cos coach did what I would call an above expectations type job and would fit into what I think the award is all about.

Agree totally Ukfballfan. Beatty is a good coach, no one is denying that, but Franklin County has come from nowhere with a chance to play for a real title, nothing mythical about that.

Let me vote for Adam Fowler from Owen Co. His team was 3-8 last year and finished the regular season undefeated this year.

Absolutely. Another great choice..

The choices mentioned above are very deserving. I just wanted to throw out a couple more. Coach Hughes guided Lewis County to an 8-2 record, won the district, beat Mason co for 1st time in 23 years, beat Russell for the first time in school history. Big turn around from 3-7 last year.

Coach Siple from Bracken Co. Led the Polar Bears to their first winning season. I think it is great to have so many success stories to choose from!
