October 28, 201114 yr Now that football season has drawn to a close for most of the Northern Kentucky Schools, lets hear about the upcoming basketball season. Who are the teams/players to watch this year in 6th/7th and/or 8th grade hoops on the boys side. Have all schools conducted their tryouts and how many kids did they keep on each team?
October 29, 201114 yr PUMPED for games to begin! I know this one 6th grader who will be fun to watch......
October 29, 201114 yr I look for the Pendleton Co (Sharp Middle School) 6th & 8th grade teams to be fun to watch. They will have a tough time with some of the larger feeder school programs in NKY but these two teams are were the talent is at for the future. 8th grade team is basically returning all their players besides one who is playing freshman. They went 17-18 last year with a mixed shedule of 10th region teams and then 9th region.
October 30, 201114 yr In boys 8th grade news, Thad Moss has transferred from Gray MS to Ockerman after leading Gray to the Regional championship over - Ockerman! If Moss plays 8th grade basketball at Ockerman they will be very tough to beat.

October 30, 201114 yr Or will he play Freshman ball at Boone? If I'm not mistaken I don't think Boone Co. lets kids play up in basketball..
October 30, 201114 yr If I'm not mistaken I don't think Boone Co. lets kids play up in basketball.. In the past I know Boone County didn't allow it. But the Conner 8th grade girls challenged that rule and a bunch of those girls on now playing up on the freshman and JV level. I'm sure if Thad is asked he could go and play.

October 31, 201114 yr I'm out of the loop on middle school ball but I will say there is a group of very good 5th graders in the Ft Thomas district who will shine in the coming years. I can count 8 right off the top of my head who can play at a high level. Fill us in on the HMS 8th graders Joat.
October 31, 201114 yr Author I'm out of the loop on middle school ball but I will say there is a group of very good 5th graders in the Ft Thomas district who will shine in the coming years. I can count 8 right off the top of my head who can play at a high level. Fill us in on the HMS 8th graders Joat. Do not know anything as yet. Tryouts are Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday if needed because of the 8th grade recognition game in football. They will play in the HMS tipoff tourney on Monday and Tuesday for sure, with hopes of advancing to Thursday's semis and Saturday's championship game. May take some time for this team to round into form because of the late start and having so many footballers. Teams have been selected for 6th and 7th grade, each with new coaches this year in Mike Herald and Kevin Nieporte respectively.
October 31, 201114 yr Campbell County 8th should be solid returning most everyone from last year. How many 8th grade teams does Campbell County have?
