In one move, in his press conference, he was able to divert attention away from his horrendous managing in the Series, by blaming 1) bullpen coach, 2) the Ballpark bullpen phone system, 3) excessive sound. Tony take great pride in being the 'first' to do anything, so he should be proud of this excuse. One thing that will not allow that excuses to fly, how did he let him happen for the second time in the same inning ? He has taken his whining and excuses to new levels. I love the presser when Tony Doubleday stated, "I'm not going to throw anyone under the bus, but.... (then proceeds to do so). Vintage Tony ! I love that the whole nation has witnessed how he perpetually overmanages, and then whines and blames someone else when he flops.

LaRussa has never made a mistake. If you question him, once you hear his explanation, you will find out that you were wrong and he was right. Also, has anyone heard of a problem with the bullpen phones before last nght? Seems a little suspect to me that in all other playoff games/series or even in the season this was never mentioned by anyone. Only LaRussa, of course they just did that on this one night . Question.....if you were a manager and even suspected a mix up, phone not clear woulodn't you make sure the correct messge got to your pen? I am sure there were ways to do that. You nailed it, LaRusa has set a new level of :cry:. I am beginning to think the man is senile. Anytiime he loses (same with "Crypenter", it is someones fault other than theirs.

That is something I dream of witnessing some day. Thank you LRCW, I'm defiantly fired up just thinking about the chance that I'll be watching a Game 7 inside Busch. When the Cardinals reached the NLCS, I told my dad and brother we should try and go at some point. The only game that originally looked like it would work with all our schedules and schoolwork was Game 7 in the WS :lol:. Somehow, we're a game away. :confused: Game tonight doesn't look good. Last time I checked 80% chance of rain. I wonder if they'll just call the game before even attempting to warm up any pitchers like they did in the ALCS.
