I don't know much about either team, but how would most of you rate the difference between Scott County and St. X? I've heard many say that Scott County has not played too strong of a schedule, I'm interested in hearing what makes the two different.

Central routinely has a losing record and they remain ranked #1. Male's two wins are better than anyone else in that 5-15 range. This has been the toughest year to rank 6A that I can remember

Central has not lost to anyone other than 6A schools St X and Manual this year and only lost to 6A schools last year. If you think Male beating Eastern and Butler are quality wins, then you are sadly mistaken IMO. I can't get past the fact that Boone has a 5-3 record, beat Male by 2 TD's yet the 2-6 Male team is put on a pedestal being ranked 8th and Boone is viewed as doo doo. Heck, I'd take Meade Co., Bryan Station, or Madison Central over Male in the top 10.

Lets see how Male ends up in the playoffs.

 

The Male/Manual loser will go to Meade County in the first round. That won't be easy. The winner will likely go to Central Hardin, which would seem very winnable.

I don't necessarily fault Scott County for playing Harrison County - they are a neighboring county and I believe Coach McKee went to Harrison. But the Webster County game was certainly puzzling, especially with schools like Trinity (and even Hazard and Pike County Central) having only 9 games this year.

You're preaching to the choir about Scott. I don't think they deserve a top 3 but have already stated that case in other weeks with no luck. Fact is the voters can never look past Louisville and NKY in 6A. Care to touch on Male in Boone out.

Not one N. Ky. school in the top 10, so no problem for the voters to look past N. Ky. 6A. I believe N. Ky. 6A actually is stronger than what it appears. Ryle has only lost one game to a KY school. Boone has some nice wins and gave Covington Catholic one of their toughest games of the year (CCH IMO would be #3 in 6A behind only T and X, and they probably are better than X). With Dixie and Campbell County being up and down, it has brought the whole perception of N. Ky. 6A down lower than they should be.

Maybe the fact that X's losses all come from the #1 teams in their divisions(and their states w/exception of bowling green). Also X was in every game they lost including Trinity which was 14-6 at halftime. Riverdale 10-3 at halftime. Bowling Green 14-7(X lead) at halftime and Moeller 14-0 at halftime. If X played Scott Co. today it would be 42-7(X)

VOR, you are correct...I was speaking more in general than just this year. Year in year put the poll is NkY and Louisville teams with 1-2 Lexington teams sprinkled in from time to time.

It's a down year when your #2 team has only one win against a team with a winning record (and Manual didn't have their starting qb for most of the game).

It may be the first time BGP Rankings have been accused of leaving out NKY teams. Usually, it's the other way around.

OK. Litkenhaus has Butler #4 and Eastern #9. And yes, they have Boone #7 and Male #11

 

Cantrell has Butler #4 and Eastern #8 -- Male #13 and Boone #10.

 

I dont feel like our rankings of Butler and Eastern make the poll questionable. You can argue away on Male/Boone.

On the one hand X's losses have been to fantastic teams. On the other hand the only team they've beaten with a winning record was Manual, and many would say the Crimsons beat themselves. Regardless of WHOM X has lost to, when the #2 team in your highest division is 5-4 and arguably will finish the season 5-5, that division is not strong. That is no disrespect to X at all, but more a statement about the non-existent depth in 6A football in KY. The "wannabe"s in 6A that boast say, a 6-2 record, would have very little chance of beating X and next to no chance of beating T.
