October 20, 201115 yr I'd be very surprised to see Andrew Luck or Jason Campbell in a Seahawks uniform.
October 20, 201115 yr This situation sets up pretty well for Palmer. He plays in a mediocre division, w/ a coach that he is close to. The offense is run based, so he will not have to win games w/ his arm. His defense is having a terrible year against the pass, but isn't putrid. All he has to do is keep the chains moving. However, name 2 wide receivers for the Raiders... who is he going to throw to on third and medium to get the crucial firsts that sustain drives? I like their receivers. Not great, but really fast and the safeties should be worried about McFadden. McFadden is an underrated recevier too. It all boils down to is CP any good anymore. If he's not it should be evident. He was clearly really good or great in 05-06. He has clearly been not as good since then. Is it declining skills, injuries, stale offense, bad routes from overrated receivers or all of the above?
October 20, 201115 yr I think it was one of those "straw that broke the camel's back" situations. Palmer was getting more and more fed up every year. You could see it in his pressers. He looked like a depressed man and not just because they lost a game. He was wearing the weight of the world on his face. Last season was it for him and I think the final straw was when fans started dumping trash in his front yard. I really think that was the final straw for him. He was done, his wife was done and that was the end of it for CP in Cincinnati. I really believe that trash in the yard and the personal feeling attacks were the final straw. That's why there was nothing the Bengals could do to get him to come back. It was personal and family at that point. I think the Mrs. may have felt stronger about the demand for a trade than Carson did. Don't ask me why, but I have reason to believe it. God love them; wives just don't like it when they think their hubbies aren't fully appreciated. The garbage on the lawn, while pretty insignificant to me, may have been the straw that broke the Mrs. back.

Oh, they're fast, but w/ CP at QB, they'll need possession types that can convert on 3rd down. He can't throw deep like he used to.
October 20, 201115 yr Jacoby Ford Darrius Heyward-Bay Denarius Moore Kevin Boss You have too much free time. They have Boss? That is a great 3rd down safety blanket.

October 20, 201115 yr Guess I do as well. Would have been able to name them with no problem Just wait until Sundays become cleaning the house and working on the yard days. It's a sad moment.
October 20, 201115 yr Oh, they're fast, but w/ CP at QB, they'll need possession types that can convert on 3rd down. He can't throw deep like he used to. I think that is false. Henry passing away and Ocho getting old, not working as hard on his game, and his free lancing routes hurt that more than CP IMO. I don't trust CP on the medium routes anymore. I think he can hit a fst receiver down the field. The safeties cheating up to stop McFadden will help.

Throwing the deep ball was the most impressive thing about Palmer as a QB. When he first came into the league, he was one of the best at throwing it deep. He did not show the ability to do that nearly as well the last few years.

October 20, 201115 yr I sort of always thought that was because mentally he was afraid to fully step into his throws after the knee injury. Could be. That seemed to be the time his effectiveness dropped off. That was a beautiful bomb he threw to Henry on the play he was injured but the knee injury may have stuck in his head.

October 20, 201115 yr I sort of always thought that was because mentally he was afraid to fully step into his throws after the knee injury. Nothing to do with Henry missing time and eventually tragically passing away or Ocho getting older and not as good?
