October 19, 201115 yr I sure can. Don't fool yourselves, this is a job to these guys. We try to fool ourselves into thinking that they play for the love of Cincinnati??? Not hardly. I doubt if very many of the current Bengals would pick Cincinnati if they had a choice. They didn't. Palmer had enough, same as thousands of other Bengal fans. He was in a place to do something about it. He did it with a minimum disruption. Cinti will come out better for it. Class act all the way who doesn't deserve the garbage being thrown at him.

Carson had a choice a couple of years ago. He chose to sign a lengthy contract extension. Why would he do that if he was unhappy here? Oh 118 million dollars which it turned out he wasn't worth. He did not do it the right way.
October 19, 201115 yr You think Giants vs Rams, Bucs vs Colts, and Miami getting 2 Monday night games are better/more watchable than ex-Bengal franchise-holdout-crybaby QB Carson Palmer playing at home against his old team? Get real.. That's just this season. We're in week 6...You are making my point for me. This matters to Bengals fans, but nobody else cares. Sorry man. Take away that and you have a game between two mediocre teams which is what the rest of the country sees.

This is the same city that booed Pete Rose when he came back here with the Phillies. BTW, what would have been the right way? Stay with the team, become a cancer, and take more money while making everyone around you miserable? Wait and let the Bengals fill another need at the draft, then tell them you're out? Talk bad about the team and say you'd rather work the drive thru at McDonalds?

I believe the right thing to do would have gone to Brown and Lewis and say, you know what, we just got rid of two big issues on this team. We have drafted a top flight reciever, we got rid of our crappy O coordinator, the O line is shaping into a decent unit, how bout we do everything we can to become successful. I signed a long contract obligating me to be the QB. I want to do everything that I can to live up to the moniker of Franchise Quarterback, and earn every penny of that 118 mil you're paying me
October 19, 201115 yr If nothing else, Mike Brown has proven that taking a hard line stance with your own players actually drives their value through the roof. I mean the guy turned down an offer of two first rounders for Ochocinco and got at worst a first and second for Carson. Will this affect other owners in any way?
October 19, 201115 yr Stated on the radio today that Carson Palmer will start this Sunday against KC It will NOT be televised in the Cincinnati market.

After 8 years of MB I don't think any of us would. I would have loved to have seen that happen but it's worked out for us and I just don't see the petty bitterness directed towards him.
October 19, 201115 yr Sure you would. After 8 years of MB I don't think any of us would. How many years was there when he took his extension. MB has been the exact same person his entire tenure with the team. You telling me Palmer didn't realize this until after he signed that extensions?
October 19, 201115 yr He quit on their team. He deserves it IMO. Man even if he never "retired" or asked to be traded, but yet Mike Brown still decided to trade him. People still would have booed him big time when he came here. Don't use that he quit stuff as for the reason why people will boo him. He is right people would have booed just because they only remember one thing. They will look at the last year he played here in "his bad year" and only really bad year record wise with the team and only remember that. Instead of remembering he was the one that helped get us out of the horrible 90 and early 2000's and brought excitement to this city that led to 90 something straight sell outs. Led us to two division titles, and sweeping the AFC North last year. So yes it would be ignorant to boo him, which people still would have done even if he didn't quit and you know they would have still. There will be some who will boo just because he quit, however the majority would have booed anyways.
