October 11, 201115 yr Not really surprised. http://eye-on-collegefootball.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/24156338/32664312 Guessing him and Darth Viser had words and that was that.
October 11, 201115 yr What a coincidence that he's finally dismissed the week after Spurrier finds a suitable replacement at QB.
October 11, 201115 yr Too bad for the rest of the SEC. They can't count on Garcia throwing them a few passes every week now. Too bad for the Gamecocks...they might be in the title picture had this move been made sooner. Like prior to the season. How hard was it to figure out Garcia was a trainwreck?
October 11, 201115 yr Garcia obviously has issues, but I think this story says much more about Spurrier and the University of South Carolina. The kid has been there for 5 years and been in trouble through most of it...now they decide he needs to go??? SMH, that is ridiculous.

Spurrier started Shaw for the season opener, but he was yanked after going 3 of 9 and being down to ECU. Spurrier has been trying to replace Garcia for years, but never was able to find the right guy.

Spurrier is a selfish, arrogant jerk who only cared about Garcia when it benefited Spurrier. Shaw will not look nearly as good when he faces better competition.
October 12, 201115 yr Party boy needed to go...he also needs some help. I also agree with the comments of 4chs.
October 12, 201115 yr ESPN reported that Garcia tweeted that "he was shocked and flabbergasted" over the dismissal.:lol:

October 12, 201115 yr Ummm, have you seen the different stuff Garcia did? Like showing up drunk to team functions. And yet Spurrier was all too happy to do nothing about it until he felt he had a better starting QB.
October 12, 201115 yr It is sad that this kid couldn't keep it together and has been given more than enough chances to get himself straight. I still think the Gamecocks are the favorite to win the SEC East.
