GOP Debate

Featured Replies

So I see there's a debate tonight. Anyone know if this is going to be televised, and if so when and where?

I'd like to be able to see it in its entirety instead of just bits and pieces.

It will air on Bloomberg Television tonight. You can also watch the stream live on PostPolitics.com.

New drinking game: Drink a shot every time a candidate mentions Ronald Reagan.

I just envisioned a BW-3 type bar with a bunch of people watching the debate on big screens in High def.

Justy don't do it everytime someone mentions Herman Cain's Tax Plan... you'll end up in the ICU...

Or play a Democrat version: every time a Democrat mentions a Kennedy, you have to fool around on your wife! :bunny:

Okay that was a cheap shot. I apologize.

Fortunately, we do not have to listen to a D debate this election cycle so I can pass on the above.

I saw some highlights this morning. I did like how they let the candidates question each other.

While Mr. Cain certainly must possess some business acumen based on the success of his pizza chain and other businesses there is something about him that makes me think he's not all there. He has a Hank Williams Jr feel to him occasionally.

Mitt Romney is obviously the favorite and I expect him to be the last one standing. It will make an interesting race. I don't think he has the support of the loudest part of the base so the enthusiasm might be tempered but he will also have an appeal to the election-determining middle portion of the voters.

Bachmann sure straightened up everyone on who exactly caused the housing mess..

I heard she had some enlightening remarks on what happens if you flip the "999" plan around.

She actually made a pretty good comment on the plan, with a witty "devil's in the details" catch phrase. Of course, if you didn't watch it and get your news from the headlines you wouldn't know that.

I think economically he's the strongest candidate. The strong reservations I have about him are related to foreign policy. Iran is a huge issue for me, as a voter, but you don't hear a lot of talk about it from the candidates (although I didn't see last night's debate). Right now it's all about the economy, which is why Cain is performing well.

I agree totally on Romney. I look for Cain to ultimately fade away, ala Bachmann & Perry. Christie's endorsement can only help Romney & I feel he'll be the Republican nominee. And while he doesn't have the "loudest part of the base" supporting him, I believe that actually works in his favor come the general election. He has a middle appeal that the other Republican candidates just don't have.

Like I stated before as a Democrat Romney is the only Republican that I would vote for . I like that he is a member of a "cult ":sssh:
