October 19, 201114 yr Rep. Bachmann is upset with the President. She said he put us first in Libya and now he is putting is in Africa. As a result out troops are spread too thin.
October 19, 201114 yr Gov Perry, as many of us knew from the beginning, has zero chance to come out of this. Gov Romney hurt himself tonight by looking petty and thin-skinned. Not a good showing for him. Even though I think Mr. Cain oversimplifies problems (9-9-9, unemployed are solely to blame for being unemployed) he didn't get flustered like the rest even though they all took apart his oversimplified tax plan. No mention of jobs that I saw. Who fared well in this one?

I wouldn't address that when our current president hasn't even tried to address that until it was way too late. I mean it BEEN three years, eventually he has to own this at some point.

Romney kept his cool even though Santorum was being obnoxious and interrupting Romney. Perry started doing the same thing and finally Romney stood his ground. The crowd understood where Romney was coming from and eventually started booing Perry for numerous interruptions and weak arguments against Romney. If anything Romney made a point basically saying if people on the stage (Santorum and Perry) want to become President and expect to get something done in DC, they better allow Romney to rebuttal and have a professional discussion. Romney won the debate just like every other. Anderson Cooper was able to make the GOP candidates fight amongst themselves. I think Gingrich always does a great job at the debates but sadly has no chance. I imagine the left will take bits of this debate and make Romney seem thin-skinned. As to the Petty....what made him seem that way? He answered every question (when he wasn't interrupted) well. Romney is usually lenient on those who attack him and since he fought back a little its looked as spiteful? Remember, Clinton and Obama went at it on a CNN debate in 2008. It didn't make them look thin-skinned or petty. In today's media. Reagan would of looked hateful after his Nashua comment towards Mr. "Green". And to be honest, what Romney did was almost the same thing.

Perry started doing the same thing and finally Romney stood his ground.. I saw the Santorum exchange as well as the one with Gov Perry. It just screamed "cat fight" or "teacher, please tell him to let me talk." Trying to talk over each other and saying "he's not letting me talk" just came off poorly for someone who has a legit chance to get President. To be fair to Gov Romney I'd probably lose it occasionally, too, if I had to put up with Mr Santorum and Gov Perry much less trying to figure out exactly what Rep Bachmann was saying. Glad to hear that overall he kept his cool.
October 19, 201114 yr Author Gov Perry came out of this looking awful, as did Santorum. Once again it's clear the only two that have any Presidential feel to them are Romney and Cain. Heck, Gov Perry, Sen. Bachmann, and Santorum all kept referring to President Obama as "Barack Obama" and "Obama". I understand referring to one another on a first name basis as they were doing, but shouldn't they have enough respect for both the President and the office to refer to him as "President Obama"? Romney clearly won this debate, with Cain coming in second. Romney held himself MUCH MUCH better than any on here would have had with regards to Gov Perry and Santorum constantly interrupting him and not allowing him to speak.
