Yeah, I saw that one. I sat there thinking, "what in the world is he doing? Is he trying to blow up his own campaign?" :lol: Gov Perry needs to boycott these debates if he wants to stay in the running. One more performance like last night's will be the death blow IMO.

I thought Perry also missed a huge chance to score points when he didn't exactly repudiate Jeffers (sp?) Mormon comments.

For Rick Perry, I would agree not a shining moment. While this wasn't Mitt at his best, he exposed Perry essentially as a desperate candidate ("he's had a tough couple of debates"). I think the crowd recognized Perry's desperation & rude interruptions, which was displayed by their applause at the end.

 

I'm not a Romney guy, but he's been very solid in these debates. Very much improved candidate from the 2008 guy.

What does SC voters stand for? Southern Christian, Southern Conservative, South Carolina? I apologize for not knowing but I had to ask. Only bad question is the one a person is afraid to ask, right?

I do as well. My mother-in-law is 'all in' when it comes to her church and their beliefs and she is a republican and I almost 99.9% sure she wouldn't vote for Romney because he is Mormon.

Yeah, put me in the camp that could care less about a candidate's religious beliefs. It has nothing to do with how that person would perform in the White House as far as I am concerned.

Southern Conservative is what I was thinking but when UK said South Carolina I figured that made sense also since they elected that Al Green guy(or whatever his name is) to Congress or something like that.

I will openly admit, he hasn't given me any reason to overcome his Mormonism. It's a big factor for me.

 

I haven't watched a single debate and honestly don't think he is getting invited to debates, but out of what I've read the only "declared" candidate who even remotely excites me is Gary Johnson. Other than that I'd much rather stick with what I know then give any of the GOP lunatics a crack at it.

^If you don't mind me asking, what about him being Mormon gives you a bigger pause than say a Catholic or Christian candidate?
