One would not have guessed this was #1 vs #2. The game was never in doubt. I don't think the Manual QB had a great game. That hurt them big time.Their running backs ran hard but the O-line quit by halftime. Crimson defense had no answer for the Rock offense. To make matters worse for Manual ,their student section taunted Trinity and Quick as mentioned (chanting over-rated) (you s---) (gay) etc. Even if a Manual school official chose not to muzzle the hyena's I thought the Manual coach might tell them to knock it off. If Manual would like to be thought of on the same level as T and X then along with boosting the program they need to offer some lessons in stadium ettiquette to the student body.

Folks, I told you Manual gave up over 350 yards passing to Butler. Not to know Butler, but they are a running team. Trinity could have scored whenever and however they wanted. The back up running back is better than what Manual has at RB.

We shall see next week. Has the gap ever been this wide between #1 and the rest?

That's really a shame. I hate rude behavior. I dare some M backer to defend that conduct. Yet, they profess to be a "top-knotch school." You cannot teach class and you "can't fix stupid."

I agree with you. There's nothing wrong with a heated rivalry, but when things get out of hand in the manners that you are describing, something needs to be done. That is a shame when the principals, coaches, others from administration, etc. doesn't do something about it. It also goes to show the lack of professionalism in the schools that tolerate this kind of behavior from their students.

What a beat down! Thanks for the bulletin board material Manual coach! I could go on and on about the separation of talent and coaching between Manual and Trinity... but I will leave that one alone.

What stood out most to me was the pathetic Manual student section and lack of control by it's faculty!!! Were they even cheering for there team and did they even know what the score was at any point of the game. I'm sure... and will guarantee we will hear the same chants at Male next week from there student section.

 

I must say it was nice playing Elder, Cinn. X, Brentwood Academy, MBA and Indy Cathedral and hearing there student sections cheering for there school and not berating the opposing team!! Hey Alabama!! When do you think the running clock will start next week. Just venting... sorry!!

1) I had to leave during the second quarter (4 month old decided he has watched enough football) but until that point I sat behind the Manual students and didn't hear any of that. They did bust out the bull hockey chant when they wanted a pass interference call in the first. Not saying it didn't happen later.

 

2) Trinity gave Manual the whipping I expected. Unfortunately, I'm also seeing the same thinking by a few Trinity posters that I called out yesterday. Seriously, taking Lucas' comments as "bulletin board material" or treating it like smack talk to mock after the game is arrogant and petty. There's really no other word for it. Manual's student section sounds like it got bad during the game but there are some Trinity fans on here failing to win with class. Being in a large group packed together in a partisan environment and having the anonymity of the internet produces similar results, I guess.

 

I would say about half the people I have met IRL and formed friendships with on this board and have been Trinity fans. Before this week, my feeling was that if Manual couldn't spoil, I wanted Trinity to run the table and get that mythical title. I still feel that way, but some of you make it hard.

Finally awake this morning! Congrats to the Rocks! I listened on the web last night and was very happy to hear fewer penalties called on the Rocks (which was my biggest wish). I did hear the M student section, but I think people are making way too much of it. It's a student section. I also think people made too much of Coach Oliver's comments. What the heck was he supposed to say? And frankly, up until they played the Rocks, why would he have reason to believe anything less of his team? I liked his comments this morning in the C-J. He sounds very committed to continuing the improvement of Manual football.

To add a little context, let's keep in mind that Manual's all-state caliber RB, DarMontre Warr, did not play.

I have real issues with the I BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE GAY chant that started in the Manual student section at least twice last night. The adults from Manual should have quashed it immediately the first time and the second time ejected some of the ringleaders.

ROCKTOPPER, show some class, my son who is a Freshman player at Male reads this site with his Mom also. Running clock you ask? if Male scores over 50 it might start. The game is about kids and I love all kinds of football and have over the years had some battles with the Rock/X fans, but I have great respect for fans who win and repsect the teams they play against. As the respect I have for my fellow BGPs Rock/X posters, you will learn this to in time.

 

Now, If I have said something on here for you to bring up the RUNNING CLOCK against my Son's school, then take your shot, I'm a big boy and don't mind some gentle jabs. Have a great time and enjoy the games all week JVs/Freshmen too.

Love going to Maxwell Field to watch a game! Always a great atmosphere, and LOUD cheering. I am sure Male will be back and will play hard on Friday night.

Ease up Alabama! I know most posters MO on BGP. I just don't post a lot. I do read and laugh at how misinformed people are concerning the many issues Kentucky football. I can read into your sarcasm most of the time! FYI! I have two sons who played multiple sports at the ROCK. Oldest played football and owns quitea few championship rings. All I'm saying is it will be a running clock on Friday. No disrespect to your bulldogs... they are just a very young team taking a few lumps. They will get better. It's just that your Bulldogs will be facing a monster on Friday that requires me to say running clock. I know you and I would get along very well... I too, am a roll-tide fan!
