Bell County residents fight back.....Go Bell County!

True Blue, Its about the kids. we have kids pray by themselves in the end zone, we have the Lord's Prayer, it is what they want, its their game. Its what Jesus has commanded. He is the Law.

Yes, Larry. In your situation it is about the kids. In Bell Co, it is about the fans in the stands.

I'm doubting, however, that Jesus has commanded that the Lord's Prayer be said at football games. What He has commanded is that we DO pray. He has not commanded how.

It still should not be allowed if the kids want it, it is still a public place. What makes it ok now. law is the law.

It's a moment of silence. Not a prayer led by an official or outside source on behalf of the school. It is different by far than what was there before. It meets the criteria of the law as it has been interpreted in other places.

It's only been mentione a dozen times before.

If the ACLU shows up at the next one, will they be identifiable? Log Mountain can be relatively unfriendly I would imagine during a moment of silence.

Yes, SPINNY, if these people decide to pray in unisome together what does/can the ACLU do? Someone answer that question. We had "meet at the pole" this past week where kids in High/middle school meet before school and pray/speak. Is that against the Lauw? Inspector Clousso...

Their actions are exactly what many of us "heathens" suggested as the solution on the previous thread. These people aren't "fighting back."

Careful now -- that doesn't fit within the narrative. You're in danger of having bible hurled upside your head.

Why so hostile Larry? First of all, it's "unison" not "Unisome." (That's what you take to get to sleep at night)

"Meet you at the Pole" is: 1) Before School and 2) Student led and 3) Totally voluntary (Not captive audience).

That is an apples to oranges kind of thing.

The solution from the beginning has been simple: a moment of silence. This practice has been recognized to this point by the courts as constitutional.

As you showed in the previous thread you have an inability to grasp key differences.

What they should have done all along.

I am sure the ACLU will try to say they cant wear religious stuff on school property. Or have a moment of silence because it may insinuate a religious act.
No...because there is nothing wrong with that. This was an easily solvable problem and thankfully Bell Co saw it.

Exactly. Folks can pray to God or Allah or to a ball of mud. They can check their phone messages if they want.

Sounds like the powers-that-be made an informed decision rather than go down the road of starting a new Bell County Christian Academy.

Hatz, whom made you the Guru junior?

Your apples, my oranges doesn't make you right, maybe in your own mind, your entitled.

I'm not here to argue with you, Bell County has the right to pray for the kids who are involved.

True Blue, Jesus did command how to pray. Pray with out ceasing, ask in my name, and I have more if you want.

It shocks me that people would fight prayer to keep kids from injury before they are involved in a violent activity.

This will never have a change in my heart on this matter, Pray is simply talking to God. We should all start the day with talking to him and end the night with our AMEN. If you go against praying for these kids then I'd think that you must be a non Believer. These posts I'm reading who want to argue are making it seem that way.

What do you think Jesus would say on this matter?

I give up, Larry, I really do. If you think that those of us that are promoting ways to incorporate prayer within the bounds of the constitution and the rights of both the believers and the non-believers are, indeed, non-believers, well...there is just nothing more for us to discuss. I'm sorry.

Well said my friend...:thumb:

If kids are allowed to lead the prayer at the pole, then why cant they lead it for graduation
