nWo Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 (CNN) -- American-born Muslim cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, the public face of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, has been killed, the Yemeni Defense Ministry said Friday. Al-Awlaki was believed to be hiding in Yemen. The U.S. regards al-Awlaki as the biggest threat to its homeland security. Born in New Mexico, al-Awlaki preached at a mosque in Virginia before leaving the United States for the Middle East. Read More
PurplePride92 Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Say what you want to about the Obama Administration(and I know some of you will...) but you cannot say that he was asleep at the wheel when it comes to the War on Terror.
UKMustangFan Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Say what you want to about the Obama Administration(and I know some of you will...) but you cannot say that he was asleep at the wheel when it comes to the War on Terror. It's funny you say this. Just last week my dad and I were having a conversation regarding this very thing. We both agreed the one area we agree with and think Obama has done a good job in is with the War on Terror.
jericho Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 yeah and Obama is the one hunting them down and flying the planes and directing the drones. Our military, intelligence, and special ops deserve the credit. They do the dirty work and all Obama does is say yeah or nay, sometimes I doubt he knows all that does go on. But I am sure he will take all of the credit for it. Good kill (if such a thing) of a guy who wanted to do nothing but harm America.

Dude just gave orders.

Though I didn't (and won't) vote for him, Obama has done a very good job at leading/protecting us in the war on terror.
Run To State Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Smart of Obama to continue the Bush Administration's War on Terror! This is one area I give Obama an A+.
Run To State Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 I thought about putting a soundbite of that song on here too!
jericho Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Since Obama does such a good job taking credit for killing terrorist, does he take credit for the Navy Seals getting shot down and killed a few months ago.
Jim Schue Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Since Obama does such a good job taking credit for killing terrorist, does he take credit for the Navy Seals getting shot down and killed a few months ago. Since he is their Commander In Chief, I would argue that he should bear some of the responsibility and feel some remorse, just like he has every right to cheer and feel responsible for successes such as this. Two-way street. (I know, foreign concept for you ...)
nWo Posted September 30, 2011 Author Posted September 30, 2011 Smart of Obama to continue the Bush Administration's War on Terror! This is one area I give Obama an A+.I agree. Bush laid the ground work for the success of the war on terror. He should get credit also.
Habib Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 For the sake of being contradictory: Is the United States safer now that we have assassinated a citizen? What are we left to gain with a massive military presence in the Middle East?
PurplePride92 Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 For the sake of being contradictory: Is the United States safer now that we have assassinated a citizen? What are we left to gain with a massive military presence in the Middle East? After 9/11 I don't think we'll ever rest on our laurels and stop the chase of finding and putting a stop to terrorists and terrorist organizations that wish to cause harm to the US.
Heartbreaker Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 For the sake of being contradictory: Is the United States safer now that we have assassinated a citizen? What are we left to gain with a massive military presence in the Middle East? What would your solution been to this enemy of the USA? He would have slit you from ear to ear Habib if he had gotten a chance. Yes he was a great citizen of our beloved country.
