I've been in 13 weddings and attended countless more. Only once has there been a seating chart beyond "the wedding party". Seems pretty pointless as I'm sure adults can figure out where to sit. I'd say to skip it.

Her parents paid for most of it. We paid for the "extras" such as Photographer, videographer, etc.

Your right...they do have sandwich artists at Subway.

 

That reminds me. When I was in high school I worked at McAlister's Deli. On resumes and job applications that I filled out after that I wrote in that my position there was Sandwich Chef.

I drove out to Independence tonight to a friend's house. As I was driving up the hill on 17 I noticed a rode sign just after I passed through the canyons: Tourist Attractions: BP Gas, Subway. Made me laugh out

loud to myself in my truck.

I would put Fletch in a table in the corner alone. Maybe let Mal sit with him because he likes to argue. Just kidding Mal.

 

I'd let BF, RTS, Clyde, GT, RP, TD, PurplePride, FormerKY Etc all sit together but that might get out of hand quickly. I would sit the moderators right next to them to keep them inline.

 

I would assemble a table for the younger crowd SVfan, UkMustangfan, PMIC, Sportsfan,Wildcatscratch,BBI, MJ, Dol and a few others.

Love the 10pm to 6am in parenthesis by the way.

I hate wedding planning. Just for future reference for anyone, don't do a seating chart.

 

OK here is an idea that just came to mind. Set up your seating by numbers. Have your attendants give out numbers to people as they arrive at the wedding. The earlier you get to the wedding, the better your seat is at the reception. Those who only show up at the reception get the numbers that are left and the worst seats at the reception. If you want to let friends know how you are doing it, it is on them to get to the wedding and get good seats. Reserve a couple of tables for family if you want.

I think I'm up to 10 weddings...4 go-rounds as the best man. Talk about a pain in the butt.

It does get old as my summers seem to be consumed with weddings but I always have a good time. I'm at 4 for the best man but will make 5 next summer.

I think the best groomsman gift I ever got was a bottle of Blanton's bourbon bottled specifically for me. That's my favorite bourbon, and as I came to find out, personalized bottles are NOT something that Blanton's offers as a regular "service". It was already a $60 bottle of booze, and then in order to have one personalized (label and all), he had to hunt down somebody on a corporate level and pay to have it done specifically for me. Pretty awesome.

 

That gift aside...I think the next best one I ever got was a baseball hat. Everybody knows weddings cost a fortune, and I always hate seeing the bride and groom shell out a pile of cash on gifts for the bridal party. My friend just went groomsmen by groomsmen and picked out their favorite sports team and got them each a fitted hat. I'd file that one under "the thought that counts".

 

My idea for my wedding (whenever that day should come) is to get all of my groomsmen baseball bats from the Louisville Slugger museum with their signatures on the barrel.
