I think it happened the week before they played Highlands. If I remember this correctly, Bruns tried to play on it versus Highlands and had to leave that game early on. After the Highlands game he had it checked and that was when they found there was a fracture.

He was in a boot Friday night when they played Boone. JD

I don't think he ever played in the Highlands' game. He dressed, but couldn't make it through warm ups. He went down in the CovCath game, but retaped it and went back in. I don't know if he did it then or during practice earlier in the week. Since the Highlands' game, he's been in a boot. I read an article last week that said he'd be out a couple more weeks. I wouldn't expect him to play this week as the game doesn't mean much.

It seems like fractures usually take about 4 weeks. This week would be right at 4 weeks. So I guess there is a chance he could play this week depending on the healing process. Has he practiced any this week? That would tell the possibility. If he is practicing, then he will probably play.

He said last week that he plans to be back for the BW game. With district play beginning next week it might not be such a wise idea.

My son had similar injury during a season. If Dixie is still affiliated with the same Sports Medicine doctor that is on the sidelines at times, it will be a full six weeks. Then the leg has to be strengthened.

But it would depend on the severity of the fracture, right? If Bruns' is hairline and so small he was able to run on it and your son's was more significantly fractured, there could be different recovery times. I agree that 4 weeks seems to be pushing it but I am sure the doctors wil do what needs to be done. If they say he can play, then he can play.

Trying to stir something up are we? Too far into the season for that to be an issue. Plus Dixie is playing more platoon football now according to the posters.

Good luck to him and I hope gets back soon, when he is healthy he is as dangerous as any running back in NKY!

It would be stupid to rush back to play against Beechwood. The most important games start next week and the rest of the year. I don't see how he could be healed and ready to play again in 4 weeks.
