If I was Beechwood I would be also concentrating a bit on Justice. He gets the majority of his yards between the tackles. And I wouldn't take the recieving core of Cohorn, Pitzer, and Hatton too lightly either. Pike doesn't need much time to get off his passes of late. Can Beechwood's secondary match up with Dixie's recievers? Can Beechwood get enough pressure on Pike, or stop Justice? Can Dixie's defense contain Vocke? Dixie's O ad D lines have been doing a pretty good job these last 2 games. Dixie's defense has gotten alot better, as has the O and D lines since they have only 4 players playing both ways.

All great questions! One thing I can guarantee, there is no way BW is taking anything lightly this week. How could they? This poll will be seriously scewed and thank goodness it doesn't reflect what the BW faithful, or the team, believes. Dixie has the strength's to give the BW defense fits; however, even though the BW offense was dealt a heavy blow on Friday night, it still has strength's that will give Dixie fits. On paper, both teams will put up some points.

Really surprised that so many people give the nod to Beechwood. This will be a very close game. Dixie always improves a lot during the year and I see them pulling out a close win in a pretty high scoring affair.

Am I out of my mind thinking losing Erdman hurts BW more defensively against Dixie than offensively?

Losing him hurts on both O & D. He can not recover quick enough.

Clyde.....your mind is clear. I was thinking the same thing. He is a very strong cover guy that has been a nice compliment to Brennen. Hopefully this is not exposed too much against a high octane passing game. Here is an interesting scheme to ponder: do you drop Nussbaum back a little more with his speed to help on Erdman's side? If you do, do you want to lessen the pressure game that Max brings like not many others can?

On the offensive side it will be a loss but there are very capable, and proven options beyond handing off to #42. Nussbaum and the young Mitchell Thomas are talented enough where Dixie cannot let up when Vocke does not carry it. Throw in Joe Staten as the power back on occasion and I think the O will be ok.

^ I agree. Erdman will be missed more on D than offense, only because Vocke and Nussbaum are great options to carry the ball on offense. There is plenty of depth on this Tigers squad and there will be a capable replacement(s) on D for Erdman, but the replacement won't have Erdman's speed or experience.

Listen to the Docs/therapists/trainers and get back quickly Gage, but do it the right way! Some things just have to run their course and can't be rushed. Just get healthy and be there by the last two games of the year.

What is the official diagnosis on Gage's injury or are they waiting on an MRI today to make a determination?

Not to sound rude ... But my guess is that 75% percent of defenses today do not stress outside contain as a primary responsibility for defensive ends. The actual number is probably higher than 75%.

The game has changed significantly over the past 10 to 15 years .... Which means that defenses have changed with the times as well.

So are you going to tell us how it is handled?

You don't want him to do another team's scouting for them, do you?

since 75% or greater already do it wouldn't it be well know?

I agree .. that it definitely is not rocket science ... except to the outlying 25%.

Come on out to practice tomorrow ... I will be more than happy to walk you through it.

Dixie coaches might be just sitting in the coaches offices waiting for just this sorta break so I would be :sssh:

What was the result last year?

I think Beechwood pulls it out but i agree it will take 40 points to win this game

The score in 2010 was 35-21 Dixie.

I have not seen Dixie play yet this year but I have heard that Their defensive line play has been much improved and that Brady Schatzman has been playing very well! I think this could be a close game, I love Seth Bruns too, I know hes been hurt but will he be at full stregnth Friday? Im going with BW by 3, 24 to 21!
