Big changes coming to Facebook

Featured Replies

I just saw a few screen shots of what it will look like begining in a few weeks, a cousin of mine is kinda beta testing it, not sure what I think of it yet, but the changes are huge!

I wish they would do one thing, that they would seperate the off-line instant messeges and the mail

I agree completely. That has caused me to not really use the chat option on there anymore and I used to use it quite a bit. I feel like I've been using Twitter more and more lately.

Why is it on Facebbok that you can post on some peoples wall's and others you can't? Wanted to post a Happy Birthday for a former teacher and couldn't....???

I used to be able to post on thier walls. Is this something each person has to set or did it come with the change?

May be a stupid question, but are you friends with them?

 Yes.

Maybe they've changed their privacy settings since the last time you wrote on their wall.

 Yes.

Just making sure :D

I read about the changes yesterday, and to me it seems like FB is going to look more like myspace.

I'm not a huge fan of twitter, so I won't be spending a lot of time there...but I've been spending less and less time on FB.

To me, it's like the homeless man who complains to the soup kitchen that there isn't enough turkey on his plate at the community Thanksgiving dinner. Facebook is free. That and e-mail is rapidly putting the US Postal Service out of business. I'm not one to complain about a free meal.

Something to ponder here...

In a broader sense, we really are the customer; because, if we leave, we take the advertising dollars with us. Facebook had a good thing going and they're trying way too hard to make themselves look like their competitors.

When you provide a service, you have to make it a comfortable experience for those who use it. Facebook doesn't seem to understand that people, especially Americans, value they're freedom and guard it closely. They shouldn't be making choices for us that we can better make for ourselves -- such as what we see on our newsfeed. Instead, they now have HAL 9000 deciding what we will see.

If you want to make a bunch of crazy changes, at least make them optional. Customization makes the experience enjoyable for everyone.

I hate all Facebook changes. I particularly hate how they just make a change and users are left to wonder what happened.
