I'm convinced Cochran is one of the, if not the biggest, nerd in the United States.

 

That's why I thought they should keep him around. Think how helpful he will be in a logic challenge or something along those lines.

- Jim, Medical Marijuana Dispenser. In other words a dealer

- Semhar, Spoken Word Artist? Is that fancy for Poet?

Didn’t even notice the beaches, my field of view was about 3 feet higher.

As for Cochran, I'm kinda glad he didn't go straight to Redemption Island because he's goofy and could give some entertainment. But that boy seems helpless if its not a puzzle challenge haha! How lame was it when he was worried about going swimming?

On first glance, I liked Semhar but during and after the challenge she quickly became annoying. I was still kinda hoping Cochran went to RI first though. The cast overall seemed to be interesting and unlike last season where one tribe just worshipped Rob they do seem to have people who came to play. I already think the medical marijuana guy (Jason maybe) is an early favorite from his tribe and out of all the "new cast members" seemed the most equipped to play the game. Though I realize it's entirely too early to try and pick out favorites to win.

 

I thought the cast would be aware that he was Russell's nephew so he would be instantly gone. However, if my Momma taught me anything---it's don't trust a guy who has "Loco" tatted on his neck--I don't see him lasting long.

 

I didn't like Semhar from very early on, and she only validated my disliking in the challenge.

 

Agree on the overall cast & I too was repulsed by the Rob-worship last season.

 

Totally agree on medical marijuana guy, though he will need to simmer the facial expressions some.

 

I really like Russell's nephew, only because I liked Russell.

 

Nerd Boy is my favorite. Reminds me of the actor who played Mark Zuckerberg (or whatever his name is) in the Social Network film.

Of course, we only see what the producers want to see, but that's how it came across to me. No doubt they love Ozzie, but I don't think it's nearly to the degree that Rob was adored last season.

You are completely right, defnitely not to the same degree. The difference between Ozzie and Rob, Rob probably would have continued to push for Cochran to go home last week. Even though we didn't see it all, as you mentioned, Ozzie was probably smart in picking his battles early on.
