Yeah, that way the stadium can feel even more empty than PJCS does.

KHSAA announced on 8.5.11 that WKU had renewed through 2014. Perhaps Georgetown is thinking 2015 or beyond.

I think Bowling Green is the best place in the state for the Championships.

 

No doubt about it! The perfect size stadium for high school championships, nearly new turf & Bowling Green is a nice town with the sponsor dollars.

Great views of the game, perfect size, perfect size city, and the indoor clubhouse for KHSAA functions.

I would think the KHSAA would want to keep all the football together. Many people make it a weekend and want to see all or some of the football classes. Really can't see why you would split it up.

 

That is my thinking as well. Just don't see it happening that way.

Considering people used the same argument against the Louisville venue, it is a legitimate concern.

The football championships are going nowhere for the forseeable future.

Honestly I think it wouldn't be a terrible idea to hold the state championships at a smaller venue. I can't speak for the games that have been held at Western, because I have't been, but I really felt that PJCS was way to big. It felt like playing in a ghost town.

 

Agree 100%. Western hasn't felt as cavernous as PJCS, but I'd still prefer a smaller venue. I definitely don't want to see anyone turned away, but there's nothing like playing - or watching - in a packed house, weather that's 5,000 or 50,000.

I think EKU would be the perfect size and pretty good location. The proximity to Lexington also allows the hotel situation to be a non-issue.

 

I can't see the KHSAA splitting up the state Championships.
