From some discussions I've had with western Kentucky people at the All "A" Classic, the problem with Richmond is that its hard to get to. Not in the sense of distance traveled, but more because there really isn't a straight way there like there is coming from Louisville, Lexington, northern Kentucky and eastern Kentucky.

Not hard to get to for someone from NKY obviously but from the Western part of the state it is a bit of a drive.

I've been to Richmond a lot and I don't feel there is an accessibility problem ... you go to Lexington, then veer about 30 minutes south.

I would argue the hotel crowd for the All A Classic was bigger than what goes to the football finals, and there were plenty of rooms available during the All A. It's just a short jaunt up I-75 to the hotels on the south end of Lex, so there's plenty.

As long as the high school band stands are on the visitors side at eku, the finals will never have a chance of being played there.

I dont think UK would be a good spot. I think Barnhart would have some sort of basketball tourny with Ky playing at the exact same time as the Championship games. He has done it the last 2 or 3 years during the playoffs. Bring these no name teams in and play on friday night during H.S. playoffs. Thanks Mitch Barnhart thats a great way to build your football in the state.Joe Hall never did it,friday night is sacred all through the south. I would like to know how much that hurt the gates and consessions state wide.If I were in the KHSAA I would have nothing to do with Ky in any event.
