Georgetown is just to small to hold the State Championships..KHSAA isn't going to leave that money on the table...I wish UK would get turf and it was moved there..It doesn't bother me that Commonwealth Stadium is huge. That just means you can get a better seat..Western is just too far to drive for the NKy folk..

KHSAA announced on 8.5.11 that WKU had renewed through 2014. Perhaps Georgetown is thinking 2015 or beyond.

I think EKU would be the perfect size and pretty good location. The proximity to Lexington also allows the hotel situation to be a non-issue.

From some discussions I've had with western Kentucky people at the All "A" Classic, the problem with Richmond is that its hard to get to. Not in the sense of distance traveled, but more because there really isn't a straight way there like there is coming from Louisville, Lexington, northern Kentucky and eastern Kentucky.

Makes more sense than playing at Commonwealth "because Kentucky does," which is the reason most people want it there.

Part of the fun of playing in the State Championship game for the players, is the D-1 atmosphere! I would hate to see them take that away.

Western Kentucky's stadium is the perfect size for the state finals ... not too big that even a good crowd gets lost and big enough to handle the crowds. The atmosphere has been great in Bowling Green the last two years, and the community makes an effort to make it succeed ... why would the KHSAA choose to screw that up?

I would think the KHSAA would want to keep all the football together. Many people make it a weekend and want to see all or some of the football classes. Really can't see why you would split it up.

Splitting it up is a non-starter. Too many coaches' conferences and such things centered around that weekend. Plus, it would be a big burden on KHSAA staff to try and conduct state-level events at two locations 2 hours apart.

Louisville is closer to Indianapolis and Cincinnati than it is far western Kentucky ... we didn't complain about it.

IMO from past experience it's a heck of a lot better than Papa John's and the old Fairgrounds. With the smaller stadium the atmosphere is 10x better for a high school game. :clap:
