I'd also have Ryle ahead of CC at this point, not based on who they've played, but, how good I think they're gonna be... Guru even said in the CC/Ryle scrimmage thread that if CC did indeed play even or relatively even with Ryle, then they should feel pretty good about things... I'd take that to mean he feels Ryle is the stronger of the 2 teams, otherwise, I think he would have said 'Ryle should feel pretty good about things", not the other way around...

 

Guru was referring to what that said about their respective chances of success in their class.

The question is still why are they ranked 2 and ryle 3

I guess I care. CovCath wouldn't play Ryle this year, because of the last two beatings they took. Now they are ranked 2nd. Dont understand.

 

CCH would not hesitate at all to play Ryle this year. Ryle was fortunate last year to have their best team ever while CCH was down, and 2 years ago, maybe Ryle's 3rd best team ever while CCH was way down.

 

I hope you enjoyed the last couple years because after this year Ryle is really sliding off the map.

Theoldguy wasn't there for sure. Ryle took the 1st team out at the end of the 3rd. Thats even after Elliot ran his last carry to the 4yd line. So cov's 1st team the beat up on the jv team.

But CCH's 1's did not outplay Ryle's 1's - Ryle actually gained more yardage during the 1st 3 quarters but had 3 interceptions to CC's 1. Had this been a real game, when it was tied 21-21 late in the 3rd quarter and Ryle with the ball, you might remember that the Raiders ripped off 3 consecutive runs of 25, 12 and 11 yards to get a 1st and 10 at the CC 30. They tried a pass play on 1st and 10 that was intercepted and I can assure you that if it was the end of a real game, Travis Elliott would have jammed it down CC's throat and they would not have stopped him (Travis averaged 7 yards per carry in the scrimmage on 14 carries). So, Ryle could have "won" the scrimmage, but working on the passing game as they did all scrimmage was more important to the Ryle staff than "winning" the scrimmage by pounding Elliott. If you disagree with that, we simply agree to disagree. And, I'm happy with CC being ranked #2. What difference does it make?

Straight Shooter: I won't disagree with your statement at all about the 3rd quarter and the QB throwing the Int. Both teams did a lot that they might not have done in a real game and that is why it was a scrimmage.

Very true. I sure enjoyed watching Talkers boot the ball. WOW. Perhaps one of the very few times this year he will not catch the end zone with a kickoff, we saw Mr. Elliott do some magic and a nice play by one of the CC men to save a TD. Talkers really impressed me with a cannon for a leg.

I can assure you that it was NOT because they were afraid to play Ryle.

CCH was asked to play Ryle and wouldn't. If you dont believe that ask the coach maybe he will tell you why. Im not bashing CCH just think right now they are over rated. I dont need a seeing eye dog to see Ryle controll that scrimmage.
