So Ryle beat two 6A schools that are not expected to do much this year. CovCath beat two 6A schools very handily and one of them is/was supposed to be one of the top 6A schools in NKY.

 

Based on the opponents, I'd say the rankings are right.

 

I agree... I think CovCath is a much more rounded football team. Ryle is Travis right Travis left.. CovCath is much harder to defend in my opinion..

How was it that the game was the first verbal comittment between the two teams and it was broken by Cov? The comitt was there before they played their game last season.

Still a lot of games to be played. Come Oct. we will know who has is better team.

If CovCath was going to "drop" a team, it would have been La Salle. When the re-districting came about everyone's schedules were messed up. If CovCath were so afraid of Ryle why would they play them in a scrimmage? I know that CovCath as well as many other schools had to scramble to revamp their schedules with the new districts. Because there were scheduling problems surely does not mean CovCath was "afraid" of Ryle. I thought that Ryle was trying to upgrade their schedule and picked up Colerain for their 3rd game very early last year?

 

Whether or not Ryle should be ranked above CovCath is a legitimate argument, stating CovCath (who year in year out plays a brutal schedule) was ducking Ryle because the past two years outcome is ridiculous.

Clyde last year at Nippert Ryle won 61-7. Year before not sure if you would classify as a beat down but Ryle won 34-11.

Absolutely a beat down last year, but it may have been Ryle's best team ever and was a rebuilding year for CCH.

Let's see what happens when Dixie and Ryle hook up. If Ryle wins in a very convincing manner, then they may be #2.

That's 2 pretty good beat downs.. I know CC is supposed to be improved this year, but, they need to prove they are 1st, because this isn't the 1st year they've been expected to be really good and with a high early season ranking, only to be average, at best. I'd also have Ryle ahead of CC at this point, not based on who they've played, but, how good I think they're gonna be... Guru even said in the CC/Ryle scrimmage thread that if CC did indeed play even or relatively even with Ryle, then they should feel pretty good about things... I'd take that to mean he feels Ryle is the stronger of the 2 teams, otherwise, I think he would have said 'Ryle should feel pretty good about things", not the other way around...

I don't think you can put too much stock in the Dixie win either. NCC exposed Dixie alot worse the week before than CC did. I realize Pike is a difference maker, but, NCC absolutely humiliated them from the word go and didn't have to play from behind at any point.
