Lol, 9 days without a post in this thread.

Time to come storming back in to the pro baseball threads to watch the Cards get shut out of the playoffs. Hated to see the Cards give up a 4 run lead to the lowly Mets last night in the 9th. :dancingpa The Braves are up big tonight. Come on Cubbies.

I'd be willing to bet he does jack-crap. He seems almost scared to do anything anymore.

Not trading Ramon for prospects was idioitic to no end.

I think we'll see some movement this winter. He should have made a few this season and I hope he can understand that he has a fanbase that's growing impatient with his lack of creativity. They still will get compensation when Ramon leaves as a FA so no big deal.

What were they offered for Hernandez?

If they offer him arbitration. Pray he turns it down.

Oh joy.

3 more years of head-scratching moves and moves that are made 2-3 months too late.

Jocketty is the best GM the Reds have had since Bob Howsam. He knows what he is doing.

Wayne Krivsky did a heck of job and gets no credit. A lot of the impact players we have now were because of him.

What were they offered for Hernandez?

Who cares?

It was well known the Giants wanted him badly, and he was claimed off waivers by a team (presumably SF) and pulled back.

In order for them to get compensation for him they have to offer him arbitration, which IMO he'll accept. He's not in their plans for next season, so there is no reason to not ge something for him.

Coco got the worst save I have ever seen last night!

Stubbs back to lead off spot, BP sitting out after injury last night. Janish playing 2nd.

I'll go that far with you. A team will work in a youngster here and there in those types of games. But they will make sure they put a team out there that no one will squawk about. So yes, they will work a guy in but they aren't going to experiment or put 3 AAA guys out there unless that is the best they can do at that time.

As to the Yankees, they just clinched, they are getting ready for the playoffs. Completely different than a non contender. You are like a dog on a bone. You always do this. You take one piece of minutiae and make it into something much more. you go crqazy over a daily lineup like that day is game 7 of the World Series. Daily lineups have to be looked at within a 162 game schedule, not just what is the best team that day. If that was the way it is, team's would only need 20 man rosters, if that. Let's just do this. Watch baseball the next 3 years in September paying attention to this and get back to me then.

Yanks still going at it hard tonight with the lineup and Tex "tagging" up on a ball on the gap and not scoring from 2nd last night.

You crack me up. Your whole argument was teams playing teams in a race play a regular lineup. That clearly is not what the Yankees have done over the last week. Then you change it and say well they already clinched. I'd say that too if what I said got completely destroyed but I didn't want to admit I was wrong. Originally my argument was it was dumb to think because the Reds were playing a team in a race was a good reason to sit Alonso rather than seeing what they have and I didn't think that was the reason. Of course I was right, backed up by Walt letting go of the guy he didn't want to get Alonso's time, so you resort to??? Thanks for all those lessons.

You're welcome. Ignore facts and believe what you want to believe. Please do not look at the lineups that the Phillies and Yankees and Orioles played last night. I wouldn't want your fantasy world to get turned upside down.

Did Jeter play? Does he usually play? The Yankees haven't exactly tried helping the Sox out or more importantly because of your stance they didn't play all their veterans to make it fair.

Please don't tell me the Orioles haven't used young guys in September but they only played veterans in that series. I know that wold be a joke?
