But to help you on this, I will keep my eye out and cite examples that prove my point as the season continues. I am not making this stuff up. I see it almost every year in MLB. It is going to be harder this year with there being so few close races but I will try to find examples for you and help you out. Just try to understand that is the way it works. This isn't something I made up. It comes from being a huge baseball fan for a long time and watching what happens. Teams play straight up in pennant/playoff race games. Look at Baltimore's lineup against Boston. Why isn't Baltimore running youngsters out there? Look at the Marlins' lineup versus Atlanta. Watch who the Mets play versus the Cards. The teams facing Boston, Tampa Bay, Atlanta and St. Louis over the next few days are not going to put their AAA lineup on the field.

He's stuck at 44.
September 21, 201114 yr Arroyo got his ERA down to 5.09 on the year. Another good outing and he will get below 5.00 and could become a 10 game winner. He needs 9 innings to get to 200 innings again. Considering what he pitched through with the mono the first half of the year, that is a good comeback toward respectability on the season stats.

September 23, 201114 yr Granderson and Tex got another day off yesterday along with Cano. Man, hopefully Boston doesn't get upset that NY isn't trying hard enough for Boston. Oh wait, that's right teams have to be far more worried about themselves than other teams when they fill out the lineup.

A team will work in a youngster here and there in those types of games. But they will make sure they put a team out there that no one will squawk about. So yes, they will work a guy in but they aren't going to experiment or put 3 AAA guys out there unless that is the best they can do at that time. As to the Yankees, they just clinched, they are getting ready for the playoffs. Completely different than a non contender. You are like a dog on a bone. You always do this. You take one piece of minutiae and make it into something much more. you go crqazy over a daily lineup like that day is game 7 of the World Series. Daily lineups have to be looked at within a 162 game schedule, not just what is the best team that day. If that was the way it is, team's would only need 20 man rosters, if that. Let's just do this. Watch baseball the next 3 years in September paying attention to this and get back to me then.
