Does second degree sexual assault have to mean the girl objected? He wasnt charged with rape. I thought an 18 year old could be charged with that for having consensual sex with a 13 year old. He got pretty lucky he got to plea down.

If you are 18, what in the heck are you doing messing with a 13 year old? Are you serious? That would be a 7th grader, right? When I was a senior in high school, I didn't even know a 7th graders name. Disturbing case to say the least. Large payday coming from the WV School District imo. Why would WV protect this kid?

I find it odd that after pleeding guilty to the harrassment charge that a Catholic school would take him.

 

I don't, and trust me he and his father were read the "Riot Act". The kid was a model student the remainder of the year. While if all this is true the way it is written, 1st time chalk it up to young, dumb, . However, a second and third time, you either have an issue or simply just don't get it and need some time in the clink to reflect upon your own stupidity. Bottomline: it's a shame all around for all those involved.

This is going to be ugly. The Dinkle woman gets jail time (rightfully so) and Sullivan plays baseball for a state tournament team. Dinkle gets shunned by her community and Sullivan gets written up in the paper and praised. When you think about that case and this one, it is appalling that the Diocese allowed the Sullivan situation to walk in their door.

 

Normally I would say we need to hear the other side's story. But two factors in this case throw that out the door. One, Sullivan has already pled guilty to an offense. Two, there is a reason why statutory rape laws exist. No rape is alleged here but it is a sexual offense alleged. Age is a factor in sexual matters and it is black and white, no gray area involved. The fact is very simple for me. Any 18 year old having sexual conduct with a 13 year old is guilty. Period. End of story. There are no excuses. There are no explanations that can justify it. If a 13 year old jumps on a boy buck naked, the boy better get her off and get away immediately. I don't care what hormones excuse anyone tries to conjure up. If you are a human being and not an ignorant animal, do the right the thing.

Never heard of this site? But as was mentioned above, the family and girl had a lot of flack from others (not sure who) and they had to take their family out of WV.

 

I am not sure about the suit and everything it says, I don't know about the school joingen in on harassing her either, kind of far fetched, and reaching, make all thes alligations and sue everyone and end up getting another big payday. One big clue is sueing the KHSAA? After the girls parents claimed WV lied to the KHSAA?

 

Ok, IF all these threats where made, and on Facebook, why did her parents go to the school? They claim the school was already not doing anything, why not go to the police instead? Out of all the claimed harassments by other students, faculity, administration and other parents, some of it physical, how many times did the girls parents call the police?

I feel like you're downplaying a clear as day crime. I had heard that there was more than one girl too. I'm surprised it took this long to come out.

I agree. Like it or not he could have been drilled here. Some people in his situation become registered sex offenders. The fact that an adult on this board is defended him saying it was a consensual sexual act is sickening.
