Walton Verona Being Sued By Parents of 13 Year Old Girl

Featured Replies

The "Keep Five Alive" was friends of the boy. The school wasn't involved. There are several facts in the court document that are not accurate. For instance, she was not "harrassed" at AAU games. The Sullivan's were present because their youngest son played AAU ball at the same venue. They would sit off by themselves and never "behind" the plaintiffs as stated in the documents. This IS a fact. Two of the alleged assaults were not confirmed, but based on hearsay. The accusations in the court document were construed and somewhat skewed, obviously in favor of very upset plaintiffs. Neither party will benefit in this situation especially now that it is in the public eye and everyone is chiming in....again, without all of the facts from ALL parties involved.

The school never caught wind of it at all? Did they try to put a stop to it?

Are you saying that neither of the two prior incidents had any substance to them whatsoever? They were completely fabricated?

Sounds like you have already made up your mind. And just to clarify, he did NOT play basketball elsewhere. And to go back to another post, he was not permitted to attend functions at WV. His sister played in both the Sweet Sixteen and the All A state and he was not permitted to watch her in either event, nor was he permitted to attend WV's graduation ceremony in support of his childhood friends.
And, if he is guilty of the offenses of which he is accused, are we supposed to have sympathy for him?

So he was a victim in all this? If he wanted to attend WV's graduation ceremony, either as a graduate or as a spectator, he probably shouldn't have committed the crime or accepted the plea deal.

Are you saying that he did not confess in one incident that resulted in him being charged and that he lated admitted to?

Are you saying that he was not put in detention for another incident?

Those seem to be indisputable.

Then you are talking in general about cases in which the girl isn't named, about reliable sources, about underage girls that want sex and trap 18 year old boys and brag about it and about girls whose parents have already received a payday?

1) AGAIN, NOT saying I meant to come across as it being THIS girl is some posts!

2) Yes I did hear things, NOT saying what I was told true or not, AGAIN, That is what the court system is for!

3) AGAIN, I am NOT saying all girls, hell not even close! But it is plausible that A girl, NOT this girl, will have sexual contact with a boy then brag about it (but as I said I heard it was the case here and AGAIN I am not saying that was correct or not, AGAIN that is what the court system is for).

4) IF, and I said IF, this happens to A girl, NOT meaning this one, does it because they want to or to "trap" a boy (Yes it does happen BUT AGAIN I am NOT saying this girl).

5) I heard there was an agreement for the plea as well as a settlement, AGAIN, just what I heard, that is why I had a question mark and not a period. AGAIN, that is what the court system is for, to get the facts!

6) When I said "How do you go from sexual abuse to a reduced charge of "harassment and he didn't even touch her?" That was a question, HOW do you go from something that servere to something that is basically a slap on the wrist? NOT saying he was proven innocent, he wasn't proven anything, as there was a plea for a lesser "harrasment" charge. This question was never answered, still wondering how you go from one extreem to the other in a courtroom?

So you dispute that he showed up at her game and talked to Kyle before the dad reminded Kyle that he was not allowed to be there?

The school never caught wind of it at all? Did they try to put a stop to it?

Whether the school "caught wind" of anything or not, I am not sure. I am also not sure exactly how they would be able to stop it. It was a group of kids that made t-shirts that said "keep 5 alive". Guess they could have made them change?? Not sure.

As for the 2 alleged assaults, I never said they were fabricated, but rather the details were not mentioned. Why? Very vaugue....wonder why? YOU don't know the whole story!

Did any of his friends parents know he confessed? I cant imagine letting my child wear the shirt if I was aware of his confession

I am needing clarification. Do you believe Vance confessed to something he did not do?

And, if he is guilty of the offenses of which he is accused, are we supposed to have sympathy for him?

Are you serious? No one and I mean NO ONE has said that. No one has said you should have sympathy for either child. I have simply stated that there are two sides to EVERY story and many people are making hasty judgements based on one side when they don't know all of the facts. And from that you get you're supposed to have sympathy???

You've made some very good points and I completely understand where you are coming from. Glad someone else understands you need to have all the facts from both parties before going haywire on blogs & bashing people.

WS , your point that we should not rush to judgement is 100% correct. However, you did not address my questions in post 51.

Why are we talking about the girl when the kid admitted to his crime?

Sounds like you have already made up your mind. And just to clarify, he did NOT play basketball elsewhere. And to go back to another post, he was not permitted to attend functions at WV. First off, Vance Sullivan was not a child. That's a big part of what makes this so sick.

Unless there are a bunch of statements in the suit that are incorrect, I cannot imagine not having sympathy for the girl and her family.

It is kind of hard to believe that your prior post (".... in support of his childhood friends") was not an attempt to invoke some degree of sympathy for the convicted Mr. Sullivan.

So he was a victim in all this? If he wanted to attend WV's graduation ceremony, either as a graduate or as a spectator, he probably shouldn't have committed the crime or accepted the plea deal.
Duh...... no kidding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whatever happened shouldn't have happened....but it did. I'm sure if both parties had it to do over again that it would have been a different story.
