Very interesting practice at Dixie today. Definately not your usual Dixie practice.

I think the TV exposure goes both ways. I'm sure Pike is going to want to impress the TV viewers after coming off 2 losses. It's his chance to live up to the hype. I will be interested in the "tone" of the game. It's one thing to get alittle chippy when it is only infront of the hometown crowd. It's another monster to do it on a regionally televised show.

 

First of all, he's only one person. Second, there has been talk of major infighting amongst the Colonels and Pike doesn't appear to be the man to quell the ferver. This team is a sinking ship and if the Birds don't blow these kids out early, well....

Don't know much about that. Haven't heard anything about any fighting inside the team. Have only seen today's and some of one other practice this week. Don't want to say too much on here about today's practice except that it wasn't the same practice ritual as what I've seen in the past. There have been some changes in personel in certain positions, and a few other things. Like I said in an earlier post, it all lies on the O and D lines, and the defense steppin up. An NFL team would get worn down playing both ways most of the game. There are certain kids who can handle it. Cohorn, Bruns, maybe, but definately not the line. Same with Highlands, Bruns, New, Mccoy, certain players can handle it. Their line probably couldn't. I will say this. I did see some actual coaching up at Dixie today. And not from just Pike, Cohorn, and Bruns. Don't know if that's good or bad.

The Reds' announcer on Fox Sports Ohio just called Dixie "the Colonials." :lol: Although he did quickly correct himself.

 

At least they didn't call us the "Highland Bluebirds."

I would think it might be too little, too late. Why would the Dixie coaches wait until the day before a televised game to "actually start coaching?"

Maybe for intermediate short routes but he will not be a matchup problem with the Bird quick defenders. He is stocky and strong enough to catch balls in traffic so I would expect he gets used in this game. I have never seen him play football though so its hard for me to judge his game.

He was a stud when he was younger.. I guarantee he helps this team..
