Boyle County looking for a 10th game after Tennessee school backs out

"We just got an email saying it would be in the best interest of both parties to cancel the game,” said Boyle coach Larry French on Monday night.

 

French says there could be a possibility that Class A Harlan might play the Rebels on Sept. 16. That is now an open date for the Rebels.

“We may try to get a game that way and go there which would end up better than going all the way to Tennessee anyway,” French said. “Harlan only has nine games and hopefully we can get it arranged.

Something should have alerted the AD when a signed contract did not appear but I guess it was never "Officially" off as a game until the email came.

 

Hope they can find someone because it would be a shame for kids not to get to play all the games they can. :thumb:

They are better off not playing them anyway. They are really bad Boyle could start their freshmen team against them. Just hate that it is so late that they may not be able to find a game. Terrible the way it was handled.

John Hardin is off that week.. Would be a great matchup, too.. I think they already have 10 games scheduled though, not for sure..

I wonder if Harlan and Lynn Camp will move their game back to September 30th so Harlan can play Boyle? That would allow both Harlan and Boyle a 10th game that they don't have right now.

No, he went to Alcoa. This team is fairly new to football. They played some Kentucky teams a few years back and got destroyed. They were 2-8 in Tennessee 1A last year. It seemed odd that these two would play; I guess Hancock County figured out they couldn't compete (and might even get hurt) and decided to cancel.

Hancock knew what Boyle would bring but they only had 7 games and needed the gate. Guess they found some other games in Tn.

They are beyond bad, terrible!!!! M'boro plays them this week and I believe the Jackets paid Hancock to come to M'boro????? It will be a 80-0 game with the Jackets. Boyle could have used their middle school.

 

It would have been the worst road trip ever for Boyle, bad roads, bad field, turrible!!! team and 3.5 hrs away.
