So which kid is the bigger college prospect for T: Quick or the DE #3?

Agree with Rock85 on the first part of the "playing 1s" answer - there were multiple formations involving at least 15 on O and D. But I doubt revenge factor was involved, though that would be irritating. May have something more to do with the fact that T will need to be in condition to play 4 qtrs. against foes in the weeks ahead. Coaches aren't dummies. They know what is coming...

Right now IMO Quick plays hard all the time----Jason, not so much. Based on that, I'd say Quick would be the better prospect. Hatcher did have his moments last night, though. The Brentwood program had him listed at 240 lbs. and he may in fact be that big now.

Listened to it on the way home from the St. X game and it sounded like a total beat down. Trinity is in a league of their own right now. The only comment I can make is why was Beatty playing his 1's on offense and defense when he was up by 4 touchdowns in the early 4th quarter ? Is depth a problem ?

 

From the middle of the third on there were a LOT of subs in the game. The first unit wasn't pulled until the middle of the 4th, but there were a lot of subs palying. Daekins was out, for the last quarter aand a half. Bertan was out. Hatcher was out.

Kingsburys a pretty good team or at least they were last year. No Trinity, but, still pretty decent. They'd be a Top 10 4a team in Ky..

Kingsbury was 7-6 last year, so I wouldn't go too overboard on the MBA win.

BA nor MBA are favored to win D2 titles this year. Ensworth is supposed to be a little better.

I suspect Ensworth's emergence has put a dent in them.

I was at the game. Trinity subbed two players on both sides of the ball on every play.

 

Midway through the third only Ryan White was out their as a starter. BA kept their 1's in the whole time. BA drove down to around the 30. Trinity inserted half their 1's back in until the drive was stopped. BA punted. The 2's were back in.

I was at the game. Great atmosphere The hospitality from the Brentwood supporters was over the top. Congrats to our ROCKS for a great game plan. The physical strength and overall team speed for this years team is amazing. Those of you whining about depth need to relax, players were shuffling in and out all night. It's the first game of the season and the starters need reps to oil this green machine. In case you didn't notice... there are 15 starters on both sides of the ball for this years team.

 

Stay healthy and I'm looking forward to the home opener next week against Montgomery Bell Academy. Should be a sellout again.

The match up of the big guy was about even. But the O-Line for Trinity is something. IMO Trinity has three D1 O-linemen in English, Heile, and Warburg. They all have size and great feet. English 6'5" 285, Heile 6'3" 270 and Warburg 6'6" 265 man that is a great line to play behind. I don't think they give up a sack or really a presure against a very good BA D-line and one of BA's lineman # 60 Woody Baron has committed to VA Tech.

Montgomery Bell was the first team to ever beat Trinity at the new Marshall Stadium. Trinity and MBA always have great games, ready for another Friday night! :thumb:
