Surprised at the complete drubbing, but not that NewCath won. Eviston has his kids in game shape to start the season. Dixie hasn't been able to say that in recent memory. I get chewed on for saying it every year, but a coaching change needs to be made at Dixie if they ever expect to live up to the hype. Pike alone is not worth 29 points in this game.

I agree Tom is a great guy as well as Dave S. I believe there is a point in time when people in general have to put their pride aside and do what is best for the program. Dixie has had too much talent over the years and currently to continue to get the same results week in and week out.

 

Brady had an outstanding game, however, this was a team victory with a lot of kids making big plays and a team that continues to never quit! Brady will continue to be the best playmaker in NKY this year as long as he stays healthy. This kid is gutsy, sees the field very well, knows that the game is not all about him, and leaves it all on the

field week in and week out.

I do. Cohorn missed a few reads that Pike would have made. You can't say that missing a DI QB isn't going to have a major impact offensive. That being said, NrwCaths line dominated this game. As was said earlier, Dixie still wouldn't have stopped NewCaths offense.

Year after year, Dixie does less with more talent. NCC's middle school team also beat Turkeyfoot this week, pretty easily.

You can talk about all the Dixie, woulda, coulda you want. However, Hightchew throwing for 230 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 116 yards and another touchdown is pretty impressive.

Can you elaborate? Please detail how the NCC coaching staff was superior.

 

What needs to be elaborated on? Seems mediocrity is apppreciated on Dixie Highway.

Dixie has now won 2 of their last 11 season openers, and one of those victories was by forfeit.

Newport Central Catholic 42, Dixie Heights 13: Thoroughbreds quarterback Brady Hightchew threw three touchdown passes and ran for another score to help his team defeat shorthanded host Dixie Heights.

 

The Colonels were missing star quarterback Zeke Pike. The Auburn commitment served a one-game suspension for an ejection from a playoff game against Highlands last season.

 

Seth Bruns had a 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown for Dixie Heights.
