From what I have heard from the Cincy folk at work. This will not be a good thing.

The first time they screw around with a UK basketball game(s), Time Warner will be shocked at the response they get.

Everything I hear about T-W is bad.

Bad is putting it mildly. Ugh...

My insight guy just left my house. They do the 'system check' than try to get you to upgrade. It worked this time! I added another DVR. He said he found out on the news today!

^ How much do you pay for the second box? The TV in the main room of my house is the only one with a box and it also has the XBox with Hulu+ and Netflix streaming so it's getting tough to weasel my way in for TV time. I'm considering getting another TV hooked to the cable but I'm concerned about cost.

The "system check" is just a cheap ploy to get their high-pressure sales team in your door. We fell for it once, but never again. The guy spent 10 seconds using a phony looking device to "check" our cable, then went right into his sales pitch. Then I noticed that this supposed "technician" had a name badge identifying him as a sales rep. Now, when they stop by to "check" our cable, we just tell them that our cable is working fine, and we don't need to add any new services.

Everyone I talked to at work regarding TW is not good, oh I can't wait this ought to really be an issue. JD

I had the exact thing happen to me. My showtime on-demand was not working on one of my boxes so I called them, and thought they could've fixed it over the phone, but instead I had to wait 3 days for a guy to come out and check it. Well he pretended to check it for about 2 minutes then tried to sell me another DVR box and HBO. After I said no, he then called insight and had them fix the on-demand problem over the phone. Basically I had to wait an extra 3 days for it to get fixed because they wanted to send a salesman out to sell me stuff.

He even called his pitch a "stupid deal" because people would be stupid to turn it down. That was about the worse sales pitch i've ever heard.

Direct TV here I come!

This should be everyone's response. TW is terrible.

I had Direct TV for a while. Does anyone know anything about their internet service?

I am cheap. I have the basic cable plan and no DVR boxes. With Insight when the digital switch happened, I had to get their cheapy remote and box. This also knocked out the HD I was getting from free on the local channels. How does that work with Time Warner? Did they do a similar conversion and issue cheapy remotes and boxes back when TV went digital?

It's terrible. Hopefully you can find another provider for that.
