Would it have killed Dusty to play Alonso in left tonight instead of Lewis?

Ramon was claimed on waivers today, then promptly pulled back....

Tally up another one to Walt's head-scratching moves....:ohbrother:

Must not have been able to make a deal. He projects as a Type A FA so they could receive draft picks if they lose him to free agency.

Haven't the Reds said the Alonso-outfield experiment is over?

Only if they offer him arb.

If they offer, he'd most likely accept.

It wouldn't come as a shock if Hernandez got a two-year offer somewhere, though. It's a risk, but if the Reds weren't being offered much for him, I can't blame them for holding on to him. He may still be a part of the picture next year.

How?

They going to carry 3 catchers?

But they have to offer him arbitration.

Makes sense this team doesn't need more offense!

What, is Hanigan untouchable?

They don't need offense so bad that they can afford to give runs away in the outfield, which the Reds apparently felt that Alonso was doing.

Exactly, because we'd hate for them to finish 4th instead of 3rd because of poor defense in leftfield.

Finally back to .500.
