Mason County teachers report on August 8; students on the 10th.

 

Of course, there are home visits, classroom organization and decorating, etc. that have been going on for a while.

My youngest started middle school yesterday at Burgin. He was not excited.

 

My oldest starts back on the 10th at Boyle County. His senior year and he is excited. He was bored this summer.

The schools here in the Bourbon City -- Bardstown, Nelson County, Bethlehem -- start back tomorrow.

 

Good lord, that just seems so early. I remember back when we started the week before labor day weekend so we always had a 3 day weekend.

 

My nephew, who lives in Tullahoma, TN, started back last week.

I start law school on the 17th. Not sure if I'm looking forward to it or not lol.

 

Enjoy it. There are lots of people who will try to talk down law school, but I don't care what you're doing, a year in school is always easier and less stressful than a year of working. I loved my three years in law school; had a great time and made some friends that I'm going to have for the rest of my life. It was a lot of work, but don't fall for the nightmare scenario people try to feed you when you start.

Yea most of the people I've talked to that went to law school said they loved it, so that's who I listen to. There is a lot of people who talk it down, but most of those people never went or couldn't get in or something like that. I'm looking forward to it.

 

I'm going to Louisville

University of Virginia at Wise starts back August 24th.

Good luck to you my friend, I think I'd enjoy it but I'd be nervous as hell. I don't think I could be a teacher, I'm just too cool for it; which means I'd probably get in trouble by doing something I should not.

Growing up in Maryland back in the day, school always started the day after Labor Day and ended during the second week of June.

:lol: I know. Never work nights either. Currently I'm at school from about 7:30 AM to 9:30 PM, though some of that is time after school that I'm staying to work because I can't really go home and then get back.

I'm going to Louisville

 

I went to Brandeis at UofL also and loved it there. Talking to a lot of other people that went other places, Louisville doesn't have the high-strung, aggressive atmosphere that some law schools are known for. It's a little more that way now that they've abolished the night school program, but I was a big fan of my experience at UofL. Good luck to you. Just make it through that first semester and I promise that it all gets better from there.
