If your a top 20 NBA pick then you should average 17.3 points per game playing in the OVC (especially if your a dominant post player). Farried dominated that conference for two or three seasons and he earned his way into the league. Hats off to him, he is a great talent, great person from all accounts and MSU was lucky to have him IMO.

 

No question that he's a once a decade big man in the OVC. One thing about Faried that many folks noticed - he put up his usual numbers against the big schools, as well. I think he'll have a long and successful NBA career. I'm looking forward to following him at the next level.

Not every player on the floor has to be an offensive juggernaut. He could average eight points a game just from being a garbage man. I hope he shines on the next level, the guy has a tremendous ability to rebound and he plays full speed every single minute. Just by doing this he could last a long time in the league.

Kenneth Faried is going to be a very good NBA player. Not a star, but I think he can play PF or C in the league. Its not like there are alot of really good Centers in the NBA. Bynum would be a problem, but I think he'd match up as well on Howard as most Centers do.

That is putting it politely. He has the talent and skill set, but until he can get a better handle of the ball (first), he will be just a productive, non-offensive guy. Which there is nothing wrong with that. My big concern in NY would have been their style of play. It suits him wonderfully, but his engine runs so hard - coupled with his asthma - would really limit him.

He can guard, something that is particularly unfamiliar to the team he currently works for.

I honestly think Kenneth Faried is going to be a star in the league. I feel his offensive game will improve a lot over the next 2-3 years. Watch out for this guy... He's going to shine.

Wow, let's not get ahead of ourselves. I would hope he has real expectations of becoming a starter. Right now he has a few things going for him. He rebounds like a beast. That gets you more possessions. No coach on the planet doesn't like that. He has a great motor, and he can guard. What he lacks is a 12 foot jumper. IF he can develop a solid consistent short-range jumper, he can hopefully have a long NBA career. Players play for their next contract. IF he is able to get a second contract, then a third, what a great career! At best, I'd be hopeful to be a more athletic version of Udonis Haslem if I were Faried.

He'll start and be a KEY player to a very good playoff team. That's my prediction. He could make an all-star game or two.

One of the greatest rebounders in NBA history is actually shorter than Kenneth. You get paid well to rebound in the league without scoring a bunch. Just ask Dennis Rodman.
