I've watched Faried for 4 seasons and I'll go on record right now as saying that the New York Knicks will regret the day they chose Iman Shumpert over Kenneth Faried. He didn't become the all-time leading rebounder in the modern era because he jumps high.

July 31, 201115 yr Author I'm sure it might have helped just a little bit. There is alot more involved than being able to jump high. Faried has something you can't teach. I'll stand by my statement and we'll revisit after a season or two in the league.

I've played the game before, and while there is more to rebounding than just jumping high there is also more to the game than just rebounding. I hope he has a good career in the NBA.

But when you have Amare (considering he doesn't lose time for injury) how many minutes is Farried going to get? I doubt Amare would want to play Center, and Faried is undersized for a banging PF much less a C. I think the Knicks drafted someone they think can log lots of minutes and fill a defensive need. No doubt in my mind Farried will be a solid NBA player but he will never be anything more than just a board monster, his offensive game isn't going to ever blow anyone away. I'm just not sure how many minutes Farried would get playing behind Amare.

If your a top 20 NBA pick then you should average 17.3 points per game playing in the OVC (especially if your a dominant post player). Farried dominated that conference for two or three seasons and he earned his way into the league. Hats off to him, he is a great talent, great person from all accounts and MSU was lucky to have him IMO.
