July 26, 201115 yr ...You could only post on BGP under your real name. How much of an impact, if any, would that have on the content of the posts you make? Randy, I like the question. I'm papa to most of the Mason County BGP regulars. Posting under my birth name would have made a difference back in the day (only because I sometimes posted from work). Not a shred of difference now.
July 27, 201115 yr I'll be the first to admit it. I wouldn't post any of the stuff I do in the sports forums under my real name, in fact I don't really post a whole lot there anymore. The politics forum on the other hand I would have no problem with. I espouse the same beliefs to people in person on a regular basis. I call my boss an Obamunist quite regularly.

July 27, 201115 yr ^ After awhile you get numb to the concerns of others. In my case, my "situation" changed. You stay around here long enough, you end up meeting a lot of people.....so after awhile you just don't care as much.

My older son was a part of a program (team), and some people who were a part of that program were/are on here. I was not going to say anything on here to cause an issue. Unfortunately, there were enough issues around him already at that time -- some due to his own poor choices, and some due to the poor choices of other people. I wish that the past stuff could change, but it won't; so now I just look at the positive. I have made many great friends on BGP. If not for BGP, I probably wouldn't have the privilege of every knowing her the way I do. That being said, 8-9 years ago, our relationship wasn't at that place, anonymity allowed us to be enemies first, and great friends second. I wouldn't change a thing.
