Track the NBA Finals - Mavs vs. Heat

Featured Replies

I am not a Dallas fan by any means but am thrilled that they beat Miami and 3 quarter James . With the way Lebron was so arrogant through everything, even having an espn special to announce his leaving for Miami. I don't have any problem at all with him leaving but all the specials and the way he did it was sickining.I realize that he is one of the best in the NBA but imo this series has shown that L.James is not in the same class as Jordan, Bird, Majic, Jabbar and the greats that came through in the finals to bring their team a championship.

James, for the most part has been a no show in crunch/winning time. James goes on about he had no help in Cleveland being the reason he couldn't get a title. Now he went to Miami and joining D. Wade made the Heat with arguably two of the three best players in the league and he sill has no title. I don't think there is much doubt that if the Heat stays together for a while they will win a championship. I am just glad that it has been delayed.

I am happy for Nowitzki,Terry, Kidd, Coach Carslile and the rest of the Mavs, they deserved it. Dallas plays team basketball and plays defense. The Mavs team beat the Heat's 3 individuals.

I'm happiest of all for Dirk. I was really worried he would go without a title for his career.

I have no clue what Lebron just said to the question of "Are you bothered that so many people are happy you didn't succeed?"

I was thinking the same thing.

I was thinking the same thing.

It was a bizarre answer but he has done a nice job passing off the other questions.

The JET gets to keep his tattoo. That would have stunk to get it lasered off.

I feel the same way about your comment, especially about the way Lebron handled his departure of Cleveland and about him being in the class of players that you listed. On a side note, I don't believe that any of those previous teams of Chicago, Los Angeles, or Boston would have collapsed the way that Miami did. Those teams not only had some of the greatest talent, but they also had the will and determination, which is just as important as talent, if not more.

They JET keeps to keep his tattoo. That would have stunk to get it lasered off.

Not sure what you're saying here?

Anyone think that James was just exhausted?

Heard during Game 5 that he is averaging something like 42 or 43 minutes a game this season. Add in these long playoffs against a physical Boston, Chicago, and Dallas team then you may have something.

Not saying it's an excuse but it is something to note. PS: Yes I know other players average that as well...haha

He averaged 38 mpg during the season. 44 in the playoffs.

Not sure what you're saying here?

I can't type or pay attention to what I am typing. He has a tattoo on his bicep of a NBA championship trophy.

True.

I certainly agree with yo on this . Dirk is a great basketball player and imo now that he has a title he will be ven more reconized as one of the best.

While I'm not a Lebron James fan I will say that most of the criticism that has been laid upon him has been unwarranted this season and during the playoffs and especially in the Finals.

1. Yes he has barely scored any points during the 4th quarter but you have to also realize that Bosh and Wade have taken the majority of the shots in the 4th.

2. James has brought the ball up the court a lot and if he were to try and take over he'd be labeled as selfish for not giving the ball to a proven winner like Wade.

3. He can't pass the ball to himself and lately with the turnovers and Wade & Bosh shooting of course it's going to be difficult for him to get in a rythym late in a game and instead of hurting the team by taking bad shots, he passes it off to Wade.

4. This series loss will be directed at Lebron but in no way is it all his fault. He didn't collapse in Game 2 and Game 4. He didn't turn over the ball and make bad decisions late in Game 6. He didn't do his part but to have this labeled solely on him will be idiotic.

Heat were outscored by 36 with LJ on the floor, but they outscored the Mavs by 22 with LJ on the bench. What else you wanna talk about?

Kudos to Dirk and the Mavs. Great run when it counted boys.

I do think this will make them stronger as long as the front office doesn't panic which I don't think they will. I will say that I do not think LeBron can be a second option for them if they want to win a bunch of championships. Wade seems to have more drive, heart and determination, but lets be honest he's not LeBron James. I will always believe that if it had been LeBron going off in this series rather than Wade Miami wins easily. Maybe that is because when DWade is playing his worst he contributes alot more than LeBron does when he has one of his LeBrondown games, I don't know.

I know we have debated this, but I don't know either way it it would have mattered. The Heat should have already won the series if they didn't completly suck it up in the 4th quarter in two of the games where they blew it. I don't think it would have mattered if it was Lebron going off instead of Wade in those games, because when it came to that time no one could make a shot anyways, and the Mavs couldn't miss. With the way the Mavs shot the ball, they needed more than just one of them going off. They needed both of them having big games like they did against Boston, because unlike the Bulls series when one player going off was enough. They were not going to be able to keep the Mavs offense down, like they did the Bulls.

On a side not I am happy for the Mavs. Any other years besides 2006 and this year, I would have been rooting for the Mavs. However both times they made the finals, it was against my favorite team. I do love how they play the game!
