nkufan23
So to improve at RF they got worse at 3rd and 1st? I think it was done to get better in RF defensively but also to get Jon Jay in the lineup...Also to improve second by moving Punto back to his natural position of 2B in place of Greene who had a bad defensive.series.against the Reds...Berkman isn't to bad at First...But I agree they are really only improving RF but they are also getting Jay in the lineup... stickymitts
It's tough not to like Pujols. Then again, as long as the "Birds on the bat" are on his chest it isn't THAT tough.
Voice of Reason
The Cardinals defense is already one of the worst in the NL so what do they have to lose. Kudos to Pujols for making the offer to move.

LRCW
I hope this doesn't do for the Cards what it did for the Reds in 75.

Well I would think that the respect for him as a player is kinda self-explanatory. And the respect for him as a man comes from the way it seems like he carries himself most of the time, but also a lot comes from this 60 Minutes piece on him... http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=7362328n&tag=related%3Bphotovideo

westsider
One of the reasons that Pujols was moved to first base was a balky elbow that the Cardinals felt could be a problem if he stayed in the outfield. Frankly, if the Cardinals want to improve their defense, they can play Punto at shortstop and move Theriot to second base.
