D'Angelo Russell, Quentin Snyder, Brandon Hatton, Darryl Hicks if he is playing. Not really much there UC related, but I am open this weekend and figured I'd head down for a bit...

Darryl Hicks will be playing with the Ville 2013. Kelan Martin is not on the Louisville Magic.

Not anymore, last year was the first year of a new AAU rule.

 

KBA AAU confirmed today that the player must be a current student in the grade level division for which he is playing, or, he can "play up" in an older grade level.

 

A player cannot "play down"; ie, a senior, signed or unsigned, cannot play in this tournament.

True. Two years ago it was okay, we had one then, as did a few other teams. But last year they changed it.

Just got in from the KBA. It was a pleasure to finally meet in person PurplePride92. Really good to talke some b-ball with you. Wish we had more time to talk....hopefully next time.

 

Got to finally see Jay Johnson from Woodford Co play. Really liked the way he plays. Keep this kid on your radar for next season.

 

Matt H, of the Shining Stars had to be taken to the hospital. Really hard hit to the face. Know some teeth were knock out. Game was delayed for quite awhile. Hope he will be OK. Shining Stars lost to KYA. KYA is a very good team. Tamran Manning and Jay Johnson playes for them.

 

BA Hoyas won big tonight, This makes 3 years that most of these kids have played AAU together. Very unselfish team. Adam Fatkin of the BA Hoyas took a hard fall and did not return to the game. Talked to him after the game and he was feeling better. Had a big knot on the side of his jaw.

 

Saw some good games and players tonight...really enjoyed it as always.

Met Goldie tonight. It was great to meet you tonight, Goldie!!!! I bet we could talk high school hoops all day.

I saw Brandon Hatton hit the game winning shot at the buzzer against Higher Level before I left tonight. I like that kid. I like his swag.

 

I also finally saw this kid I have been trying to get his name and school for over a year. Well, his first name, which is Marcellus. I think he is playing on a 15U team with white and black uniforms. The last time I saw him he was playing middle school ball for the Lexington Catholic team a few years ago. He is a lefty and silky smooth. Anyone know anything on this kid before I go back to KBA tomorrow?

The BA Hoyas 11th grade team beat Hoops Dreams by 30+ points. A number of these players previously played for the Derek Smith All Stars. And, they picked up a couple of new players this year as well. I like how they play hard and play team ball.

Bombers bc 16U from nky played very well tonight. They beat the 16U Crons by 15 points. They play the ville 2013 at 11:40 in the morning, which is rumored to have Daryl Hicks as their star player. Go Bombers!!

Marcellius Washington now plays for Bryan Staton. He is playing for PAL. IMO he has not matched his in game performance to his ball handling skills. Still don't think he has figured out the right way to play the game. Once he does he has the talent to really improve. I hope it happens for him.

Thanks for the info. I haven't seen him play since he was in the 7th grade and I knew he was high school age now. I was very impressed with his ball handling skills and moxie when I watched him then. I hope it happens for him too. He seems talented.

BA Hoyas defeated Lexington Celtics 79-40 and then Team Ky 78-50 to win their pool play. Play again tomorrow at 11:40. Not sure who they will play, have to wait untill other teams finish thier pool play.
