April 13, 201115 yr For those that made the switch is there any issue/challenge with converting data files? That can be an issue with older Macs, but the PC emulator software works much better these days and makes it a lot easier to switch.
April 14, 201115 yr Can you back that up with fact? The fact that I've thrown 3 PC's in the garbage? Fact enough for me. You also might want to go to the Apple store at the Kenwood Mall on any given Saturday (if you can get in, that is). Mac's are far superior machines.
April 14, 201115 yr Haven't read all of the posts but to answer your question Clyde, I have never ever had a problem with converting files ever. In fact, I've rarely even had to convert files. I have Microsoft office installed so as far as Word/Excel documents, there's no conversion needed. Programs usually come in PC and Mac these days. And for those who don't understand why only 10% of computers bought are Mac has everything to do with price. If Macs were the same price as most PCs the sales would be equal, if not in favor of Mac. My computer is the exact same as when I opened it out of the box. I have 10,000 songs, all of the applications I ever need to use, etc. and this thing runs like it's brand new. The computers are far superior to any other kind.

The computers are far superior to any other kind. If people bought the PCs that cost the same as Macs, then they wouldn't have a problem. The fact is, they are incapable of offering Macs at the price that they would need to be the same price as many PCs while maintaining their current quality. If you spend dollar for dollar on PC what you would on a Mac, you'll get the same product. I agree, you get exactly what you pay for.
April 14, 201115 yr I need a computer for the internet and to use Word documents. No reason for me to get a $1500 computer when I can get one for $600. If you have more than basic needs I can understand it but other wise it just doesn't matter all that much IMO.
April 14, 201115 yr Here's the bottom line................... Most PC users use PCs because they have to, while Mac users use Mac because they want to. I know many PC users who have switched to Mac, but I don’t know of any Mac users who have switched to PC. Also, the fact that only one manufacturer makes the Mac vs. many unreliable manufacturers making PC's. This is a very important aspect of why the Mac is much better. Mac's operating system is far superior to Windows. How long can a PC go without a reboot?? Mac's rarely need one, and it's usually only after a program installation.

Macs may cost more upfront, but have been proven to actually be less expensive over the long haul (much longer life).

Not in my experiences but how long before that software is just as "outdated" as your PC? You can guy a new one and have the newest this and that and still be under what a mac cost. There is just no needs for it IMO. Take care of your computer and it will last a while.

I've had continual problems with multiple PCs. It's no fun getting a call from your wife or child who needs to use the PC but it went to the blue screen while you're out of town. I'm getting tired of always having to be the tech support guy.

The Mac just gives me a great sense of confidence and peace of mind. Have you ever bought something and thought to yourself..........now that was a great purchase? That's the way you will feel if you take a bite out of the Apple. The add on............you will be helping the stock you own.
