April 12, 201115 yr Mets, but admittedly I am a very casual follower. I told myself I was going to get more into baseball this year, but as of 04/12 I am lying to myself. I just don't have the attachment or familiarity with them that I do the Seahawks or Celtics -- The only other two pro sports teams I care at all about.
April 12, 201115 yr I grew up in the suburbs of Baltimore; went to my first Orioles game in 1964. Listened to the 1966 WS games on the radio. Solid teams in the early 70s with Brooks and Frank Robinson, Boog Powell and the great pitching staffs. Even though they've stunk for a long time, they're still "my team". Brooks Robinson and Johnny Unitas were my sports idols growing up. Great rold models and great players.

April 13, 201115 yr Reds. I started following baseball on old black and white grainy TV sets back in the early 1960's. My earliest memories wereof Jim Maloney, Vada Pinson, Frank Robinson, Jim O'Toole, Leo Cardinas, Joy Jay, the greatest pinch hitter ever--Jerry Lynch, etc. A bunch of us used to travel 6 to 8 times per summer from Southeastern Kentucky in the 1970's to watch the Big Red Machine. I still have my tickets, I believe they were $4 for the green seats at Riverfront. I got turned away from baseball quite a bit after the 1994 strike that cancelled out half the season and the World Series. Then the sterroid era soured me on the game as well. I've come back a little in the past few years enough to where I will occasionally watch a Reds game, but I've only been to their new stadium twice since it opened. $9.75 for a pop and a bag of peanuts and $40 for a ticket is a little too much for my likes. I'll just watch them on the tube.
