I am pretty sure the Bengals will draft a QB in the first round.

If the Bengals where smart they would trade down.

I could see Locker or Mallet falling to round 2 and the Bengals taking one of them. With the way QBs have been drafted the last few years it might be tough for 4 of them to go in round one, especially since all of the 4 have major questions.

I believe Green is headed to Bengals in round 1 . So QB would be later round .

Honestly I don't think that Ponder or Stanzi would be a bad pick up if they could get them at the right price. Neither are great prospects IMO, but they both have some qualities I think a team could work with. Kaepernick is also interesting, but I think he'd be more of a guy I'd only want to take really late or as a free agent. He's a good athlete so at worst I think he could be used as a situational guy or WR.

AJ Green or a top d-linemen in the first. Locker or Mallett in the second. If both of those guys are gone in the second wait till the 3rd or 4th and try to get Pat Delvin or Ponder and get a free agent qb ASAP!

Since you want people to state why, why do you think the Bengals draft a QB in the first round. We all know that YOU want them to, but what makes you think that they actually will draft one? Don't go by what you, I want to know why you think that?

I don't think there is much of a chance at all the Bengals take a QB with the first pick. Mike Brown does not want to trade Palmer, and probably won't. So that means they won't take one in the 1st round, however good chance in the second round. I do think they take one of the DE's if one is there, if not I think it will be AJ Green. Now in the 2nd round I do think they take a QB, and I hope it Locker and not Mallett if he is there.

I voted for Blaine but hope they get Newton... and get Kolb to start and let Newton sit a year.

This labor deal is really going to mess with the Bengals. They now say they will consider trade offers for Palmer once the labor issue is settled. If that isn't settled before the draft, what a nightmare for the Bengals. The Palmer situation affects the draft and potential draft picks for the Bengals in so many ways. I would say the Bengals are more impacted by the labor issue than any team in the NFL. Literally, the future of the franchise in Cincinnati is hanging in the balance this year.

Come on lets at least be realistic.

Sadly with Mike Brown there isn't much in the future to look forward to other than him getting a year older but I see what you are saying.

I think they'll pick Cam Newton if he's available, and if they take a QB.

The other big consideration for the Bengals is the fact that there's a new OC. And given the history of the Bengals and prolonged contract negotiations with several of their top-tiered first round picks...there'd be a very good likelihood that a rookie QB could be even further behind (assuming the labor issue has been addressed). So, for my money, I'd go with someone like an Andy Dalton who might still be there come the 3rd round. Get him signed, get him into camp, and get him on the field ASAP. That's likely not going to happen with the #4 pick...especially if it's Newton (IMO).

I think the Bengals franchise is on the precipice of a total collapse if they can't put together a playoff team in the next two years. The fans are done. Season ticket sales are going to be at a low point since moving into the new stadium. The only sellout will probably be Pittsburgh. If they don't put a winner on the field and stop the bleeding in ticket sales and fan support, I honestly could see the Bengals looking for a new city. That is what I am referring to when I talk about the future of the franchise.
