North Oldham 58 South Oldham 56

Final per KHSAA scoreboard. A very good South Oldham team will not be making the trip to New Castle this year. Congrats to coach Henley and his North Oldham team.

Congrats to NO Henley can get teams ready for the dance. This is a winnable region for them. They may not do it, but they can play with any team in the 8th.

Upset. Some had picked South Oldham to win the region. Congrats to North Oldham.

Definitely an upset, although no doubt Henley is a great coach for North Oldham. This game was played at South Oldham, too.

I had South Oldham to win in the contest, that is two of my region picks to go down now.

Great Win for the Mustangs. A real team effort. Noticeable difference extending themselves out tighter on perimeter sharpshooting South.

Noticed it in some of last weeks hard fought loss to Trinity the North kids seem to take their scrappiness up a notch and it looked to carry over last night as well.

On to O.C.

Congratulations to South on a great year.

Huge upset! Many thought South Oldham was going to be the region winner. This opens it up for a lot of schools. Who wins between North and Oldham in the finals of the district??

Not an upset at all. South played out a great season, but to say that they should have been favored is a bit of a stretch. In fact, they probably did quite a job of overachieving over the long haul, as Coach Simpson did a masterful job of getting the most out of his players all season long. The considerable roster changes due to graduation from last year makes this year's team all the more special.

Hats off to North, as they played a whale of a game to avenge the earlier loss. WHAT A GREAT GAME BY BOTH TEAMS!!! Good luck to the 'stangs next game.

This was, for sure, an upset. A major one? NO But an upset? YES

Foul problems plagued South all night....Carson Fields fouled out with just under 5 minutes to play. North would have won by a much larger margin if they could have hit their free throws. Two best North free throw shooters: one went 1 for 9 and the other hit 50% of his shots at the line. Both shooting over 70%...

South cut an 11 point North lead to just 39-38 in the third, only to see North hang on.

Tremendous outside shooting by Brad Menke of North - hit some big threes. Thought Dillon Bullock really put the Dragons on his back as the team rallied in the fourth, hitting 7 of 10 fourth quarter free throws (final one was an intentional miss). Rowan was a beast inside for North, and Eric Blair really came alive for South in the final frame.

Just a great effort by both teams.

The eight region now knows what the ninth knew for years... David Henley is the last man you want to see in the post-season.
