February 22, 201115 yr The Knicks gave up too much IMO. No way that Nets deal was real, I think they just wanted to drive up the price. Now it's Melo, Amar'e, Chauncey, Landry Fields and nothing else. Do they even have a post player on their roster now other than Amar'e and Turiaf? I guess they're getting some back in the trade but they might have to play Eddy Curry!
February 22, 201115 yr The Knicks did not give up anbody that can not be replaced- they got one of the best scorers in the NBA. I love the deal for the Knicks! This is all about getting the all star PG to make NYC's Big 3 championship ready in 2012. I wish it could have happened sooner, but I'll take it now.
February 22, 201115 yr Denver did very well in this trade. It will be interesting to see what the Knicks do to complete this team, I think they gave up way too much.
February 22, 201115 yr Finally. Very interested to see how this plays out. They may have gave up a lot but this trade is about the next 3 years not this year. What free agent will join them?
February 22, 201115 yr Knicks got owned. They may have gave up replaceable players but those players will probably be in Denver longer than Melo will last in NY. If they aren't winning after 3 years he'll go for the money and may bolt. If Denver can rebuild and contend then they lose nothing and gain youth. I think Denver wins in this trade so we'll see what happens.
February 22, 201115 yr Billiups doesn't really fit that system and he literally has no help on the bench.
February 22, 201115 yr New CBA with a hard cap will kill the Knicks in trying to bring someone in next year.
February 22, 201115 yr His wife will have him in NY for the rest of his career. . She's why he is there now. I guess I am in the minority who thinks the Knicks are relevant again.
